My S12 is back on the road! YAY!!!
And by the way, Louisiana is a muggy, molded, foggy, and hot piece of crap sometimes. The people are kind of ugly there too.
Every morning the fog was so think, that you could walk around and not see 10 feet in front of you clearly... it sure made driving interesting. The company gave us a Chrysler 300 (RWD) and I drifted that slow piece of **** out in the lawn behind the hotel a few times a night. It was fun!
Check out some of the pics:
This is what looking out a window at 40,000 feet up looks like. Fluffy clouds!
This is Louisiana from the air... it has weird twisty rivers for some reason. This is really just a channel through the "bayou" whatever the heck that is actually supposed to be. I don't get it entirely.
There is a huge freaking lake that the airport is located on the south shore of, it's called lake Pontchartrain, and it's so big that you cannot see the other side without a telescope or something. You can see the power and gas lines coming across the water in the distance. LOL when we saw the shoreline we thought for a minute the plane overshot the landing site and was flying over the Gulf for a while. It was quite a hoot.
I got to the airport and what did I discover? NO FSC in Louisiana! Cigs are also less than half of what they cost around DC, so I purchased one for only $29 at the local Walgreens. Proof:
This is New Orleans cuisine at it's best: a fried oyster PoBoy, red beans and rice with bits of Louisiana sausage and, of course, fresh squeezed lemonade. Delicious!
No pics from the rest of the trip since all I did was work anyway. We put in two 14 hour days at the end to try and tie everything up so we could leave early, but we ended up leaving at 1 PM to try and drive south back to the airport. We had at least a 2 hour drive and traffic made sure we had about 3 hours. We got there with 20 minutes to spare before boarding. Running with suitcases is hard and not recommended.
Anyway, it was fun. We didn't get to go to the French Quarter and have some fun, but all in all it was nice to get into the 80 degree temperatures and sit back to relax.
