I'm strangely ok with the yellow. I really want to pick up an 05+ off road trim xterra. That would make a perfect daily that with some minor mods could be used wheeling. Sometime in the next few years, I will be making that move.

I've been pricing them out on Craigslist, but so many of the posts are bogus. Unfortunately, the trim level is off road, and searching for that shows results of other trim levels that people label as off road capable. I wish there was an easier way to specify. Though I did see one in cali somewhere with under 40k miles at about $13k. If only I had some cash on hand...

Reading reviews made it seem like it was one of the most capable suvs both on and off road. There are numerous other suvs that are better on the road (many based on car platforms), but they suck off road. Then, there are better suvs for wheeling (hummer h3, toyota fj, etc), but they are far less friendly on road. I want a daily that will drive well in the snow (they don't plow too well around me), so I would like to go awd. And, if I'm going to do that, I'd like to be able to have the option to off road. Pretty much narrowed it down to that selection. It's an added perk to use it to remain a part of this family as well.

I'm restricted to the spray cans available at local stores. The red paint with metallic flakes looks a bit weird here.

Ah, and the Tonka Truck yellow doesn't bug you?

I personally don't like yellow vehicles.

Meh, I like yellow sports cars. But I generally dislike yellow trucks. For some reason, the yellow on the x bothers me less than most trucks. Given a choice, I'd take a different color. But, I want to buy used (a new one of that trim is like 30k), so if the price is right the color is the least of my worries. The blue or darker metallics are much better looking, but beggars can't be choosers.

Wow, Adam. You think just like me. Ryan and I are heavily considering buying an XTerra for basically those same reasons. Maybe trading in my A/C, keeping Ryan's 240 for the "fun" car.

I want a white one.

No, you think like me. I'm the smart one, 'member?

Actually, I don't have a dog to cart around either. But seriously, the X with an ARB bull bar with winch, some upgraded skids and maybe an upgraded lockable rear diff and I'd be set. I thought about trading in the A/C, but I still owe enough that it's probably not the best idea. Now I'm thinking I'll try to pay off the altima as quickly as possible, then save and buy the x outright. Then, when I get a bit more funds trade the alti for a fun car (for some reason I really want the new 370, which will be older and used if I get one later, and then boost it). That's the tentative plan for now!

Of course, my problem is I start thinking about taking the x off road and that bumps me all the way up to the off-road trim. The Xterra X or SE trims can be used off road, but it's a lot harder to get a locking differential on those. Unless of course you go manual which would probably be less enjoyable off road (I can only imagine how fast I'd burn up the clutch). Damn me and my expensive tastes!

for a bike id' say contrast if your gonna go bright up front go dark in the rear.but you could go bright and bright but if done incorrectly it will look bad.

Yes, kind of like that.

See where the bronze/gold stuff is?That's what I'm thinking about outlining in gold if I paint it white.

I'm gonna test out the red paint I have, If I don't like it, I might do my bike in white.
