that things a f***in BEAST
It's not really that much better. They added an HDMI port, changed the cooling for the chips, and supposedly improved the efficiency of the processor and GPU.AppleBonker wrote:Alls I know is that my brand new elite runs cooler and is quieter (except the dvd drive is noisy as hell?). I updated almost purely for the HDMI since my tv doesn't accept 1080p over component. Plus, my AVR was out of component inputs but I had an HDMI port open. The elite is worlds better in basically every way than my launch 360 pro (I think it was called pro, or premium, whichever).
I like that. I'm rocking that naming convention from now on.Dattebayo wrote:lol, promeum
I would love to get an Elite. I wonder if I could just get the Elite console and HDMI cable. I'm pretty sure the power cable is the same. And yeah it was called both the premium and the pro.AppleBonker wrote:Alls I know is that my brand new elite runs cooler and is quieter (except the dvd drive is noisy as hell?). Thanks man!AppleBonker wrote:I didn't get a chance to say it before, so happy birthday!
Mine is an original 20 gb model. I'm pretty sure the power brick is smaller, but I'd have to pull the old promeum out and check to see if the brick would be compatible. I'd also want to verify the voltage/current output is acceptable. It's nice having the larger drive, but it took me a while to transfer all my saves/files over. But again, my sole goal was HDMI. Everything else is just a perk (the black matches the rest of my stuff better too, now the wii is the only white component).King Ranzo wrote:I would love to get an Elite. I could do that, but I want the Elite for the HDMI, the better cooling, and the noise reduction.PoorManQ45 wrote:Careful, I found that they changed the power plug at a certain point.
My friend has a brand new Xbox premium, I have a 2 year old Elite. there is an extra bar that doesn't allow one to plug in to the other.
Why not just upgrade the harddrive in your current xbox?
I like the choice of beverage as well. I remember my 21st. It was awesome buying booze on a legit ID. Though, the first time I went into the store, they didn't even card me. I was furious. For once, I actually wanted to be carded and they didn't give me that pleasure.ADDirishboy wrote:Thanks man!
I live in a college town, not many places that don't card. I was happy buying beer 10 minutes after I turned 21. The Stella Artois was finished off last night. The Arrogant Bastard saved for after work today and I'll be heading out to dinner shortly and ordering everything else to.AppleBonker wrote:

That definitely makes sense.King Ranzo wrote:

Yea I'm pretty stoked about going out to a bar tonight. I can't drink too much since I work tomorrow but it'll still be nice.AppleBonker wrote:I was in a college town too. Granted, it was the summer and classes were out. But I was still stunned that they didn't card me. Everyone was trying to get booze underage, and I clearly don't look like I'm 50. I still get carded to this day. Also, that wasn't a store I frequented with other people to buy, so it wasn't like the dude at the counter recognized me. Getting into the bar later that night was more enjoyable.
Yeah. I have my Xbox on the top shelf of a TV stand. It gets pretty good ventilation, but not crazy good. It will suffice though. My Xbox has never overheated, so I'm fine with it's placement.PoorManQ45 wrote:

What ever you end up doing, make sure to give your consoles plenty of ventilation.
These beasts get hot. I have my 360 and PS3 sitting out in the open with plenty of space. I put them in the AV cabinet for awhile and they heated the air in there to a ridiculous temperature
Seriously. I think you tend to come off as a d!ck a lot on these formus (it's flippin' hilarious). But at least you never push it too far. The hell is wrong with all these f***?93coupe wrote:When did NICO gen chat become a "relentlessly pick on high school kids" community?
Bunch of f***ing queers.
