Unfortunately saw this coming. That kit will not be ready without someone figuring out the ECU/Injectors/etc on the car. Good luck though.tyler_ofspain wrote:and i blew the motor on the way back... the worlds only turbo versa is sitting in my driveway waiting for a new motor...
Agreed. Slapping a turbo on a 1.8 liter engine without any other modifications whatsoever is about the stupidest thing you can do. Think about it. An engine that would normally last past 200,000 miles blew up on a simple trip. I would have felt sorry for the person who paid for that Versa.biggie wrote:Unfortunately saw this coming. what are your plans?idunno22221 wrote:email sent to tyler
That is rediculous. There had to be some changes (injectors/computer/piggyback) to get that hp they claimed. To think that anyone can slap a turbo on a completely stock engine and get 100hp+ out of it is absurd, much less a stock 1.8L.xtremeversa wrote:listen guys... FM did the turbo and i talked to him personally... he said you didn't need any engine management or anythung! the only reason it didn't work was because the stock clutch kept slipping out! the only problem was the stock clutch!
Can't be right. Unless it was only running 3-4psi of boost. And with the hp claimed, that's not possible.xtremeversa wrote:of course he changed out SOME parts, but he told me that it didn't need any fuel management... his exact words...
What about all the Ricers who Turbo their B18B1's?Shad0wXCalibur wrote:

Hey dude, long time no see.tyler_ofspain wrote:HEY EVERYONE!
It's been a long time since i've been on here and i know most of you don't care about this turbo stuff anymore but i've been doing a lot of work on my car lately and i went back and checked out the turbo kit...
So! everyone keeps saying it is a terrible idea to turbo the mr18de motor... I am now back here to Disagree!!!!! After messing around with everything, my motor is still in perfect condition... I actually blew the turbo, not my motor... I made it up to 12lbs of boost and my motor is still fine, no clutch slip, nothing blown up... just a bad turbo..
just figured i'd let all of you know... it is still possible!!!!
That's cool man. I met up with some people at a local Sonic here in Westminster a couple weeks ago, raced a 240sx and a few other cars on a stock engine. Unfortunately, there aren't many Versa enthusiasts around here. Anyways...definitely register and talk amongst your fellow owners!tyler_ofspain wrote:Ya i might be able to make it up there... i'm broke and can't afford to do anything right now but we'll see how the next months plays out... my car is pretty much back to stock now but i could show off the stuff that i've messed up on it haha if there is some meets this summer in denver i could definitely come up
Don't tell me you're the one that purchased the turbo kit? Ever think about selling, let me know.tyler_ofspain wrote:Ya i might be able to make it up there... i'm broke and can't afford to do anything right now but we'll see how the next months plays out... my car is pretty much back to stock now but i could show off the stuff that i've messed up on it haha if there is some meets this summer in denver i could definitely come up
Yep... i'd be the one... and as much as i'd like to sell everything... it is a lot! of work, and the turbo is blown...silverarrow27 wrote:
