I'm still deciding on whether or not to get a G35S Sedan or a G37 Coupe. If you don't mind please bring any pro's/cons to my attention.

* I meant to ask-- G35S, not X

I say the coupe. I like 2 door cars. It has more power. It's a coupe.

AWD isn't my thing either. I want to be able to spin the a$$ end around if I like. I like drifting out of the parking lot at work. Also, the need for AWD in Arlington isn't there. I miss Dallas... Not much brain, rare snow, once in a while ice, but not worth the AWD, IMHO.

It's got more power, oh, I mentioned that already?

I wasn't aware I typed X haha. I meant S. I assume that has no affect on your vote though haha. I do agree that there is no "brain" in DFW

Deff get the coupe! Unless you have a need for 4-doors...

Styling, power, value...the coupe wins it for me!

The thing I don't get is the sedan is approx. 2k cheaper. What kind of value is this? I do agree with your other points though. I'm just looking at every aspect so I know I will be 10000000% happy with the car. Part of the reason why I want to get rid of my Jetta is because I feel as though I didn't choose the car, especially with the salesman saying he sold 4 of the exact same one before my mom and I arrived there. She'll buy anything though- and I needed a car so I went w/ it.

I went with the four door because I have a 3 year old and a 5 year old. Also the X for me was a selling point living in Colorado.

Now if I lived in Texas with no kids or older kids (7+) who were not in car seats and boosters I would have gone with the 2dr. I do think that the 4dr looks damn good though. Has more of an upscale look where (duh) the 2dr is sportier.

When you say "Snooze", you mean that the sedan can whoop your coupe in every race even when the driver is half asleep?

while yes the sedan is faster, the coupe is sexier. me being male, i prefer to attract single females with my car, rather than moms interested in how many car seats fit in the back and how many strollers can fit in the trunk!

Faster? Do go on, I thought 5AT G35's have 275hp and 6MT G35's have 296hp. Compared to the G37's 330hp. How's that faster?

Yes I've been doing a lot of research haha

Although former years of the G35 posess 275HP, the new generation G35 sedan boasts 306HP. Despite the fact that the G37 has 330HP and a 3.7 litre V6, it weighs more than the sedan therefore hindering its ability to outperform the sedan. It is a minor and hardly noticable difference in power, but numbers don't lie. I would not allow this to be the deciding factor in your purchase as they are both FANTASTIC automobiles... Get what you want as it's your car!

I just had to give Heliochrome a little hell for the snooze comment... all in good fun. Even though we are all G35 family members here, we sometimes take well intended jabs at the evergoing debate of Sedan vs. Coupe... It keeps things spicy around here.

Good luck and welcome to the forum! Can't wait to hear what you decided on... keep us posted and show us pics when you land the deal!

I vote coupe...super sexy!!! besides for performance you're not going to notice a tenth of a second in a 0-60 race.....plus the 3.7 has potential for more power than the 3.5....

SPICAAAAAYYY!! (mcd'd commecial spicy saying)

I agree with both members views...

While the coupe looks great - very sexy*The sedan is actually faster.

+ the G35s - has the 18" rims and sport suspension...

I have the -07 G35s with 6M transmission... and is awesome.Up to you of course... I personally like the additional doors... + the sedan still looks great!

One fact: all others are opinions: The Sedan has less HP - but - 0-60 AND 1/4 MILE IS FASTER.period.

Lgood luck!

Only the new ones buddy.

Let me have an 05 lower plenum from a 5AT and I'll whoop on ANY Stock Sedan.

Well sure... and if I had a pound of pixie dust, I'd be freebasing it and flying my happy A$$ to work! We're talking stock for stock here sentient... besides, let's not scare off Northshore with the mod bug just yet. Let him buy the car first, then we'll spend all his money on mods down the road.

Just kidding Northshore! Good luck and most of all ENJOY the process... it's exciting to get a new car! Especially a G!

I vote for the G35 Sedan 6 speed.

It's cheaper, more practical, you can rotate tires, use regular, cheaper to operate, and still get happy endings from gf's in the back seat? I think! It was a long time ago when I last tried a back seat in a 1958 Ford The gf was hot, the Ford was a POS

The wife and I had a fit messing around in the coupe. Not worth the hassle. I think I'll have to pull out the center console in the back and make the car a vert lol.

I'm waiting to pop her Celica's cherry. That hatch is SUPER roomy with the seat down.

I'm willing to give you some pixie dust- just PM me. Don't get me started on mods, I'm already deciding on which after-market exhaust will be put on and I'm not even sure which car I'm gonna get.

The more I think about it I deem the sedan more practical, age is a factor for my insurance and I guarantee they'll say it's a sports car. Hello high insurance!

After more thought (about 30 seconds into watching FoxNews) I really think I'm gonna go for the G35. I just don't see the other $4,000 feasible because I'm so young. If I really wanted to I could-- but I'm wanting to save some of my money for my future. Plus if I get the G35 I will have about 2/3k left over for mod money

P.s. I haven't been on this forum even a week and I have already heard about your '58 Ford about 20 times haha. I believe you're the only person on here I actually remember by name.

As far as insurance is concerned, I know that State Farm doesn't categorize cars as sports cars or econoboxes. They take the number of claims paid out on that year, make and model. Average the cost to repair, and through a weird formula, come up with your premium. I actually had a lot of questions when my insurance dropped going from a four door car, to a two door.

Both my wife and I have perfect driving records. Insurance is 100/300/100 in Olympia WA.

Where you live will make a little bit of a difference in what you pay. It is based off the number of accidents averaged by the number of drivers.

Her '06 Honda Accord was $48/month. '08 Jeep Wrangler is $42/month.

Jeep is cheaper than the safe Honda, because of the multiple airbags in an Accord, it can make the difference between totaling a car with minor damage or not.

My '01 Maxima was $72/month. My '04 G35 coupe is $58/month. Cheaper to repair on average.

Just as well, a G35 is cheaper to insure than a Hyundai Elantra. A G35 can be fixed, and an Elantra is usually totaled. Just as well, since the Elantra is a PITA to work on, most repair work has a higher "shop hours" to repair equal parts.

The 03-06 sedans are slower than any other "G".

The 07 sedan has a new engine design that the G37 (08+ coupe) somewhat shares...there's a lot of changes, but they are much different than the VQ35HR

With that being said, a modded 05-06 coupe will be as fast, or faster than the 07 sedan...I need to track my car so I can finally settle this argument! I drove an 07 sedan and it felt much slower than my 05 coupe.

Yes... In my case anyways:I was refering to the 07/08 Sedan VS. 08 coupe... both in manual, both rwd.It was written many times by a few magazines like R&T, Motor Trend etc... ---check out R&T's 0-60 times at back section of the magazine - and the G35s is a few ticks faster than the G37. - on 0-60 & 1/4 MILE times only... not sure about track.

I certainly have to say the Z is an awesome car. I test drove it couple of times. I am planning to buy something fun for summers. First I was thinking to get a g coupe then I drove the Z. Now I think I'll get one sometimes. Maybe next year.
