Haha, go SSD. TBH, you bring up a legit reason to clone, but I don't have a high enough capacity SSD sitting around to keep that image on (if I had another it would be an OS drive in one of my computers). Sure, I could use a platter-drive, but that would negate the speed benefit. Also, when I format I generally like to change stuff around, so an image would prevent some of this. Finally, I spend most of my time in Ubuntu, and that means I get a fresh OS every six months or so anyway.

I guess that explains why I didn't see the purpose behind your utilization of cloning. I'm clear now. Thanks.

Unfortunately I will make the thread go away if it gets over the line. I'm just looking out for NICOclub. Nothing personal guys.
Referencing sites that offer warez in itself is not illegal. The hosting of the actual stolen information is.

I am actually looking for a program to do what you're asking.

My thinking is this: There are programs that force uninstall programs by going in and ripping out ever file, link, registry entry pertaining to that program. So there has to be a way to rip them in to a folder to be "imported" in to another computer.

Rather helpful if you are running servers. For the basic "worker bee" PC, absolutely useless.
Not true.

I recommend to people when they get a new computer or do a fresh install. Install the programs and everything that you want. Then before using it on a daily basis take an image of the system.

This will allow you to restore the system to "like new" in under an hour usually.

Welcome to the United Formus of NICO Land... Your constitutional right to freedom of speech does not apply here.

I don't really care what your interpretation of the legalities are. You don't need to spell it out or reference a bunch of crap that I will not bother to read.

The rules have been made long, long ago. Don't bother mentioning programs for downloading, or sites to find these links at. The post will be deleted, plain and simple.

You can use a backup/imaging utility like Ghost to create a snapshot of your entire drive.

In addition, you should buy a bunch of floppies and use xcopy.exe to backup your drive.

DO IT.

LMFAO!!!

I had a customer come in to the shop with a bunch of floppies saying he backed up all his iTunes on them... I stared blankly at him.
