Lol, NO!!! That is what I said too. I bet 99% of the problems were due to poor communication. He thinks he asked for an RB26 swap for $20, but what he really said was an SR20 swap for $5000. He gets mad because Jon didn't give him the RB26. Jon gets mad because he only got $20 for a $5000 job. Jon says, "Give me my money," but blk90s13 thinks Jon said something about his mamma. blk90s13 pulls out a knife. Jon gets out his tire iron. They get into it. They go to jail. They litigate. They post stuff all over NICO...

ohhhh the DRAMA!

Ok, but seriously. If you don't speak English well, just get a friend to make sure everything is legit. Surely you've got friends who speak good English, right???

Mo, as I remember our last phone convo, I told you that without the correct specs on the ECU, I couldnt do any more, I aske dif you wanted to leave it till Friday in case you can get those sepcs and you said, "If I dont get them, nothing else will be done, right?"

I said right and we decided to have you pick it up the mext day.

My lesson is not to offer to help people who cant help them self...

We both learned a lesson here, lets leave it at that.

I think its a good idea to order all that extra stuff, instead of just sending off an email to Jarco(like I suggested) or ****pit(like I suggested) to see if you can get the specs first.

It's your money, do whatever you like.

(I am still having trouble understanding exactly what he is saying here)

Although i feel its been pretty well stated in this thread that Jon is definitly a great guy and knows his ****. I feel an obligation to restate it.

Jon is a great guy, and he knows his ****.

There we go. I've known Jon for about 7 months or so. We chat on a regular basis and I am always asking him for help with one thing or the other. I have found NO OTHER person who knows as much about RB's and is SO willing to go far out of his way to help you and ask for NOTHING in return. I am not that patient and I am single with no kids. The guy is a saint.

"If you want something done right, do it yourself" Is what i beleive you said? Well how come you didn't adhere to that statement before you brought it to Jon? Because you obviously did it yourself, and didn't do it right. So whats different now?

I could go on and on but I think enough has been said. Jon, don't worry about people like this, you are not Cameron. You are the good guy getting beat on and not the bad guy trying to weasle his way out of his own **** storm. Just keep on helping guys like me, dawhiz, and everyone else and you'll be fine.

Peace-easy.

Guys, say your peace and be done with it. Back and forth bickering doesn't accomplish much, and if this thread degenerates into that it will be deleted.

well all i know is that some one is throwing stuff when it doesnt need to be.im sorry but i do have to side with jon on this one.when i first got into 240's i had bought one with the intention of swapping in an rb25.jon was the first person i talked to about it.even tho i chose to go with the rb20 jon has been supportive of my endevours with the car and what i do with it.i mean hell, he even sent me some plugs for my s15 lights that other guys with rb25 clips wanted 20$ for.mo, i would have worked on you car but as my new job is more important i had to stick with it.i suggest getting a stock ka lower harness, wiring in that so that it will crank and run on its own then securing a stock rb20 harness and working from there.this is the reason that i tell ppl not to get stuff with mad **** on it, yes it may be cool that you got a huge turbo or a aftermarket ecu, but without knowing what does what it makes any swap a nightmare.the problem most likely lies in the wiring and that should be attacked first, not jons reputation.if you send me a ka lower and rb lower as well as the rb20 efi and the ka efi i can rewire it, and i'll do it for free.there are 2 ways to do any swap, 1/2 assed and 100% done.ive seen both, one car runs like a champ and the other sucks, guess which one runs well.point in case i just finished a redtop into a s14b, that was a wiring nightmare, but i took my time and the car runs fantastic, hower i have a friend who paid a shop to do it and they 1/2 arsed it and it looks horrible, runs horrible, and has twist connectors splicing crap together in the fuse box.again im willing to help you out but you really need to head the advice that was given and try and return the engine to stock and then go from there.

i have a question for jon!do you have an RB20 -> S13 wiring service???

it seems as thought there is one unsatisfied customer and several over-satisfied customers...ill take that risk ( if you can call it a risk)

****.. he got someone free z32 brakes?!>?!?!.. good gosh.. If he gave me a free set of Z brakes, Id let him marry my first born girl.. ****

He sounds like a good guy to me.

and the fact that he did ALL that work.. (wiring is a major PITA) only paying him 200$ for 35 hours of service.. thats what.. 5.75 an hour?.. hes litterally doing you shop work for that.. hell.. i say good luck even getting something welded for less than 50$.. and the fact he got your car running.. Be gratefull...

I pray that when i do my RB swap, it will be hassle free.. (cough cough, Knock on wood)

Mo seem like a great guy when he first got to the forum.... and Jon also is a great guy always helpin people...i think u should turn this thread to a helping thread instead of bashin each other we all know that arguing and *****in about stuff isnt goin to get any where so let put our heads together and try to get this car to run....also i think u should try to get in contact of the last owner of the engine to try to get some specs and buy the Rom emulator and reader to try and read the data off of the ECU...and also try to fined a stock S13 harness and RB harness to try and start all over

I told him the same thing, but he just pretended not ot hear me....Hopefully he will see through his little crusade and get to the bottom of his cars problems, instead of trying to create more for me.

Cmon Ladies....you guys sound like and old person sewing circle for christs sake. I've read about 8 million of JP's posts and 7.9 million of them have been helpful and on target. So as a NICO member he's got pretty goood street cred in my book. So wrap up this little bickering match BS before I make it all go bye bye.

Gee thanks...WD

I can't believe I missed all this. Have been away for awhile since my computer is out. Anyways, I also think that Jon is a great and helpfull guy. Although I never spoke to him personally he was really kind enough to give me his cell number just in case I get stummped on something when I was doing my swap.

I just wanted to say "thanks jon" for being so helpfull to me and others.

I havent been on in AWHILE. However, I can vouch for Jon Powell on being knowledgable. When I had my RB20 and frequented Nissan forums, he was on a couple forums helping people out. He gets my thumbs up.

From reading the problems this kid cars has....no wonder it is all ****ed up. How do you have a turbo with no wastegate?????

I ended up selling my car back November of last year, but get ahold of me when you get back in town, we can get together. I would love to see your car.

I have my 1977 280Z that I am working on fixing up, albeit very slowly....It will get some Godzilla treatment before all is said and done. Should be alot more fun then!

So get ahold of me when you get into town.... I am on AIM at jonpowellsRB25 or my email at [email protected].
