did I ever mention how much I hate, HATE, HATE rattlesnakes?!?!?!??! This one was IN THE GARAGE! Saraya stepped over him taking the garbage out to the trash can. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: I'm beginning to think we live in their natural pathway. I'm really surprised he was even out of the ground. As cold as it's been, I would have guessed he would have been hibernating. Guess he thought our house was a better place to get warm than a hole in the ground.

We pussed out and called Animal Control. :)

If he'd been anywhere BUT my garage, he'd have gotten a "brake cleaner and Zippo" bath.

LOL
Once a zoo guy or something brought a huge snake (I think it was a Boa constrictor) to our Kindergarten class, and I was allowed to pet it.
Maybe that's why they don't freak me out.

Weird looking bugs weird me out though. :(

This is a sensible course of action.

You guys should look into some pellets guns. Cheapest ones should have no problems getting rid of them from a distance from on to the head. Most are accurate to 1/3 of an inch at 10 meters.

Load Pellet
Aim
Shoot

Actually, I have been meaning to get some pellet gun info.

I'm thinking of getting one for me and one for Dar for Christmas... Spit me some knowledge, guys.

p.s. They'll be for snake-sniping and picking pigeons off the wall (hate f***ing pigeons...)

Since you'll be taking out more then paper targets I say stick with a .22 one. Also if what you're shooting is less then 10ft away stick with open sights or some kinda red dot scope.(since most you need at least 10ft for focus on the target)

Also when shopping around don't fall for the FPS hype. You can usually get somewhat close numbers using light lead free pellets but good luck trying to hit anything.

Some real good info here.

I'd recommend either a Gamo or Crosman air rifle. I have had a Crosman for years and it's been great.

I'll bring mine over when I bring you the seats and the bumpers I picked up for you. Quiet enough to wear the neighbors shouldn't notice.

One set of neighbors are gone, shouldn't get any flack from the ones on the other side. They hate the pigeons as bad as we do. They've never had a snake in their yard though.

We used some cheap Wal-mart Red Ryder BB gun to kill a bird that kept squawking from 12am to the wee morning.

I used to shoot competition air rifle/pistol and I've never shot a better rifle or pistol than FWB. But then, they cost more than a lot of the 240's & Sentras on here too.

I'd say get a good Sheridan in .20 calibre, .20 hits harder than .177 and has better aero than .22 calibre. Thanks to the internet getting .20 won't be the problem that it used to be, the only place I used to be able to get .20 was special order at a Western Auto (remember those!??!).

For outdoor use you might want to consider picking up a cheap .38 pistol or .22 rifle and keeping a box of shot shell handy.

Not bad. Those retail at about $250 or so. And no, probably not smart to fire in the garage. But a BB gun wouldn't be much better. Bouncing BB's + 5 cars in a garage = chipped paint!

Dammit.

Hmmm... The last 3 snakes have been -

1) In garage
2) On porch
3) Beside porch

None in a good position for high-speed lead therapy. :( Oh well, it's still good for pigeons. :)
