Currently I have an S13 SR with these exhaust components:
- 3" megan elbow
- 3" megan downpipe
- 3" piping all the way to the rear
- 2 resonators (one is a test pipe resonator, the other is on the mid-pipe)
- Magnaflow muffler w/ a 3" silencer

I have Isis blast pipes to swap out for track days, but I hate loud obnoxious exhaust noises while daily driving. I like to stay low key and I hate the attention loud exhaust attracts. Hence, my efforts in quieting my exhaust in the above list. Currently, it's pretty damn quiet but when I get on it it's raspy and buzzy as hell.

I'm currently running the stock T25 w/ a megan manifold @13PSI. I have a GT2860RS waiting to be slapped on. I plan on running the same amount of boost, so perhaps looking for the 250ish hp range. I also have a SAFC neo and enthalpy ECU for the turbo if that info helps.

In my last ditch effort in quieting this garbage, I'm thinking about shoving one of these puppies in the axle-back pipe of my exhaust.

What I'm shooting for: low key, low annoyance, fun S13.

What do you guys think? discuss.

You can try here. I've heard one Blitz Realize SR20. It is not that loud cruising but has a little grunt when you get on it.

On a serious note. The more power you make, the more engine/exhaust noise you will have. My first Sr was bone stock with Factory stock exhaust. Was actually really quiet because of the turbo. Never dynoed it probably made around 170-180whp. Now with 280whp and a big a** turbo, exhaust really isn't that loud.... Idling jajajaajjhaahhalol. Now my problem is my external waste gate and like you the raspy exhaust when I get on it. Sr's just have that diesel/tractor/raspy ricer sound to it. Not really much you can do except go to a stock exhaust and blow your turbo seals lol. :chuckle:

A cat will quiet it down some. If you won't be satisfied with that, look into some sound deadening.

And if you still aren't satisfied, get a baffled muffler. Always going to be quieter than a straight through one. And please, take out that silencer. That just ruins your exhaust flow. It's like breathing out of a straw....
