Well it's fitted, and we are going to use the Z transmission, just working on the adapter plate now. Should be completely mounted with transmission and all this week. And starting on the Twin turbo setup next week, that'll take some more time, but it can be done.

Amazed that it fit. Looks so cool in that engine bay!

I'm sure that changes the old power/weight ratio for the better!

Please post pics on the transmission install.

Looks like it's close to touching the shock tower walls if not sitting against them. How much room is being allowed for when the motor twists within the chassis during heavy torque launches?

Did you see the pics of a VH41 in a 180sx?

Very interesting and I'm sure challenging project, best of luck and keep us up to date with pics and details.

Keep us posted on the trans fitment issue. I'd like to know how the clutch/adapter plate setup works.

Interesting, reminds me of the turbo VH45DE powered 240ZX that popped up on the internet awhile back.

Man....why does that engine look soooo bad & nasty in your car and so prim & proper in mine!!!!reminds me of a 427 cobra jet I was stuffed in a really clean 66 mustang fastback at a car show. He had mounted a rack & pinion front end to free up the shock towers.

Good luck!

The headers are going to be easier if we go turbo, so we're going turbo. NA they're still fine, I just don't like the way we'd have to design them. As for fitment, we have planty of room, I will try and get some more shots of the clearances, adapter plate is almost done, so transmission will be done next week at the latest. More pics to come.

Can you get a few close-up pics of the engine mounts, and the clearance between the oil pan and the subframe?

I'm transplanting a VH45 into a RX-7, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to mount it.

Got some pics of the room between the frame rail, and the front, and where the turbos will sit, worked on the manifolds today. Apdapter plate for the Z32 5spd should be finished this weekend along with the turbo manifolds. We're gonna modify the frame rail so we can run our 3 nch downpipes, and install our fuel cell so we can run our dual exhaust next week.

No mount pics yet, mounts aren't fully finished, clearances with the subframe aren't bad, going to have to modify the sway bar mounts a little to keep it. We are still gonna modify the oill pan a little so we can set it lower and further back. Should have pics of the turbo manifolds tommorrow, and they possibly might work on a Q too, just have to see, very simple design too. Gonna run twin t62-1's.

We will be replicating the adapter plate, it won't be too exspensive. I just don't know how it will fit on the Q45's. If anyone wants to try it out on a Q let me know, and the twin turbo setup, I might have to buy a Q to try. ANy people in Japan twin turbo theirs, or has anyone ever seen one?

Drift, where are you located?

There was a JDM guy, who i think either owned HKS or something like that, and he has a twin turbo Q, cost him around 10grand to put it together, and like 3 shops worked on it, one to do the manifolds, one to do the piping, and one to do the tuning... A friend of mine who lives in Japan actually saw the person AND the car and talked to them, so this isnt a wives tale, this car (an IPQ 94-95) actually exists.

You know that little shudder thing your body does when its cold or something. Mine just did one seeing that picture.

Good luck on the rest man. And keep us updated on the adapter plate.

Finished up the driver side manifold today, halfway done with passenger side. Log style for the time being, will probably be the temporary setup, I think we can fit more of a tube style header in there but it will make it even more of a tighter fit. With this setup we're going to use a mid-pipe to connect the manifold to the turbo to make install easier for the turbos, but the manifolds have to gone on with the motor out of the car, very tight fit, very.

Here's a few pics of one of the manifolds, made it up in a few hours, nothing special yet...

It's alright, I wish we could get a little crazier on the manifolds, but space is very limited. It's going to set the turbos a little forward from the motor, does it look like it would fit in a Q?
