actually, they are 2 90 mm hella headlights, 1 set for low beams 1 set for high beams, in a custom plastic thingy with some sleepy eyes with shorter throw motors or whatever the hell it is, i bet you could put together something like that for about 250, and all u would have to do is maybe hack some length off the rods for the headlights and make a custom bezel as well as mounting brackets

the only bad thing is clearcorners states they wont sell to anyone. You have to bring your car to them for install. Unless they changed that policy..which I may add is gay

On clearcorners, how come the in house conversion and tail lights, for the MR2 go to the same page as the ones for the 240sx? Do they have ones for the MR2 or just for the 240?

Speaking of headlights, what's a cheap upgrade for the S13, like better bulbs? if so which ones?

What do you suggest for good latenight drift lighting?

I tried the blue oem type sylvania bulbs and the weren't any better than the stock bulbs.

Headlights.

As a general rule. the "blue" autozone headlights aren't going to be very bright.

HID, especially for Touge. Once I am done with my other perf. mods, this is the next thing I am putting on the project boro s14. More worthwhile than any body mod IMO.

i concur. i was thinking about doing this myself. you couldnt hack the rods though, the motors would burn up. you would probably have to get the pivot unit as the homemade one would be hard to set at the same spot everytime.

sleepy eye kits are not really that expensive. you could probably get some decent generic lights or something off another car for cheap, and you will be all set.

I also heard they were as bright as you could get with sealed beams, I got the cool blue cuz they were cheaper-its so amazingly close to stock, just a TEENY bit whiter, but not really brighter....But I suggest going with an H4 conversion, relatively cheap and you can use any H4 bulb you want =)

R34 GTR: I know this is waaaay off topic, but hows the Apexi BOV? Its hard to find opinions on it since not that many people have it. I was thinking about getting it...

you're semi correct. they dont use motors. they are set like that all the time and the headlights are in a housing like you said. that setup gets rid of the whole need for motors. and like you also stated, it shouldnt be that hard to do yourself.

they are not fixed, on the site they say hardware for low profile lift kit or somethin of that sort under what they modify, but yea i think it oculd be done easy, i thought if you hacked up the rods a lil shorter you would just make the headlights go down less and in turn keep the motor the same, but i dunno im just geussing and i do enjoy the word "concurr"

Yeah i got the H4 conversion with PIAA Super plasma bulbs. They look like BMW/Mercedes lights (purplish glow) They pretty good, but down the road i want to get the Phillips HID conversion.

$64 sure beats paying $1800 for "Low-Profile D2S High-Intensity Discharge Projector" (--:rolleyes--) from clearcorners.com ...

Seems like a good price for the Bosch setup, has anyone found a better price?

hey, sorry it took so long for me to respond aleph, i like the apexi a lot, it doesnt leak at all, and it wasnt all that expensive. its really fast responding when your on full boost but the way i have mine set, its a bit slow when youre just driving like an old lady. its adjustable though, so not to worry. id reccomend it.

it looks pretty good but the lighting sucks. its great looking in the day time but at night, you better have some good driving lights to make up for it. btw, how are the canadian daytime lights. at night, do they make any good lighting? when i get the car repainted, i was thinking either clear corners and turnsignals, and maybe the clear daytime lights and i wanna redo the back lights so they;re clear too. i want a red white, and semi-black car.

so would you guys say the H4 conversions offered on PDM racing for example (~$70) are a decent upgrade to the stock bulbs, without going with a hid kit. How can this H4 conversion work without some sort of expensive ballast etc..

because its not an HID kit. it uses regular bulbs.
