Im sure the s14 s15 pistons have the coating on the crowns like the ones in the pic.

the older s13 sr pistons did not.

You shouldnt have any problem holding 400hp with the stock block. Just get a nice turbo.....like a gt2871R

Bleed those lifters real good before putting them back in. did you label which hole they came out of? they are supposed to go back into the same spot. also the guides and shims. they need to go back in the exact same spots.

thats one helluva deal! congrads!

HEy i was thinking of rebuilding my stock turbo with a different compressor housing A/R 60 like this one. my question is will i need to replace my front compressor wheel to use the 60? i think the 80 is to small..

how much did the stock pistons cost you? Did you get new rods, bearings, pins and rings as well? I'll be starting my own tear down of a black top in the next couple of weeks, but on a budget.

That's not nearly as costly as I thought it would be. Did you order them from a dealership or another tuner company?

You will lose compressor efficiency and more than likely not produce boost with either of those compressor covers. You have to match the wheel to the cover in order to have efficiency.

After you get done sanding the cam seats on the head and the cam caps, I would check for clearance to make sure it's not out of the spec. SR20 heads are very sensitive to tolerance.

I personally wouldn't have gotten any journal surfaces blasted but if you can get it polished again and have good clearance then it should be ok.

Looks like your proj is coming along nicely. good luck

Well my rings have been on back order so soon maby i can close up the block. I painted the valve cover with PPG base /clear and the block with silver 1200 degree ceramic paint. As far as the head its going to the machine shop for 3 angle valve job.

Yeah, S14 and S15's have the cooling channel style pistons. I think the Blacktop S13 engines do as well.

Have you decided on how you are gonna run the fuel and ignition system? I heard you can use the stock KA distributor system somehow instead of the CAS, but not sure how. It might help with your budget though.

No im just going to wait for a power fc +comander to come my way.im not in a real hurry my KA is as strong as ever so i just want to get the block/head closed up and then i will move on to other stuff.

I have the CAS plus all four coils i just need a MAF/ingnitor ecu engine harness.
