My hubs were on a bit tight when I was doing my 5 lug swap.

First I sprayed Liquid Wrench on the hub, then I aimed my breaker bar down onto the hub and started hammering down on the bar until the hub spun.

Then I spray some Liquid Wrench on it and keep spinning it until it pops out.

So you hammer down onto one of the 4 lobes that are for the bolts? Didn't think of that but I'm not sure how much more effective that would be but I'll have to try it.

I might just get a 22mm deep socket and remove the knuckle and take it to NAPA to get the hub pressed out. That seems like the most promising solution at this point.

I feel your pain man. I had to spray some penetrating oil on the hub about every couple hours for 2 days to get mine off. Rusty hubs make me wish I had access to a torch.

You have to twist it, I personally use an air chisel, but a hammer and pry bar might work.

Hit down on it so it spins.

I would use a hammer and chisel, taking turns beating the hub with a hammer and PB, or said acetone and ATF

wow, i avoided this by just swapping out my whole rear uprights for a 300zx aluminum upgright along with 300zx rear 5 lug hubs, brakes, and brake lines

a little more pricey but SOOOOO much better than my crappy old 240sx brakes.Paired with 30mm front brakes and 300zx bmc and booster, omg its amazing the stopping power.

Mine were this bad, and NOTHING will pop them out straight. (Except maybe a press).

They're lighter too! That's what I wanted to do but then I would've had to buy new suspension before I could drive it so I didn't go that route.

Yep, it gets things loose and makes it easier to pull out the hub.

Just making sure..you unbolted the axle from the hub right?

Yea I did but it's funny you ask that because the passenger side didn't even have the axle nut..WTF! I have to order it I guess. And what's the adjusting nut for that goes with the axle nut, neither side had that on my car.

Oh and everyone always mentions PB Blaster but I've never seen it at the auto parts store (Auto Zone). Do I have to order it online? I might try the acetone and ATF....50/50 mixture??

Acetone + ATF works just as, if not better than, PB blaster.

Liquid Wrench is a similar product.

Since you seem to know so much about this technique, what is the mixing ratio?

Get a bigger hammer, and don't be a little patsy when you're swinging it.

Try hitting it in a side to side motion to break it loose. Heat if necessary.

Oh, and take the axle out first, doofus.

Yea man, they are lighter its amazing when I took off the stock ones and put the new ones on how much of a weight difference there is between the whole rear knuckle, brakes, hubs, and all. I love my setup paired with KTS Coils. I would highly suggest in this route. Its a lot more money, but so worth it in the end especially if you plan on going coils. For myself, i massed all my parts during the summer and the last 2 weeks i and a buddy installed everything and tweaked it to work perfect.

GOOD LUCK with getting those hubs off. If you were closer i would gladly stop by and help.
