I must have gotten lucky. I wasn't even planning on getting mine for several months, but I was looking at the paper to see how much they were going for in this area and found a '90 HB 120k MT for 1500. Most I've seen for sale around here in good condition go for 3000, and most of them are automatic. of course, mine has some tail end damage but nothing a new set of taillights won't fix. maybe i wasn't so lucky, but I'm happy.Fizz; just keep looking everyday in the papers and online. your gem will appear, but you gotta pounce on it.

Get this. I'm on my 4th 240. I got my first when I was 17 and I was in love after that. I wrecked it right after I graduated HS and I vowed I'd have another. I found the perfect one, in MISSISSIPPI! Did that stop me? Heck no! I took a greyhound down there and drove it back. Ofcourse 2 months after I get it paid off I hit a deer and trash the front of it, but it still drives. So I'm on the lookout for another 240 and I find a PERFECT 91 HB SE Loaded HICAS. So I buy it, sell the wrecked one and dump about 3grand into the suspension, wheels and tires. With polyurathane bushings, the HICAS is pretty nice regardless of what people say. Then the worse thing possible happens. I rear-end a Nissan pickup when he stops in the middle of an intersection because he wants to make a left, but doesn't get into the correct lane. (I got the ticket. In Kansas, there's no fault division with a rear-end collision) Needless to say, I'm heartbroken, but on the prowl for my LAST 240. I decide I want a base model coupe, and I find it in, get this, MISSISSIPPI! Did that stop me, HECK NO! I took a plane down there, gave the guy the $1200, and drove that thing almost 1,000 miles home. (It started out with over 200,000 miles) Now if thats not dedication, I don't know what is!

I guess I just got lucky too. My friend brought me my super clean '95 back from the auto auctions in Lynn,MA. I know the stigma attached to auction cars, but not all auction cars are salvaged or theft recoverys. My 240 is nice, 5 speed, base model, 112K miles, couple of dents, ran great. How much you think I paid though? $3500? $4000? No way, what're you high?:bonghit $2200. Didn't I already say he was a friend of mine? Besides he owned the car for a total of 6 hours and he made a little money for his trouble anyway i'm sure. Ok I guess I'm done rubbing it in for now. If it makes you feel any better the car is still in it's winter storage space with a dead cell and possibly fried starter. but hopefully just a fuse.
