I bought a PS2

After reading about GT4 and **** and learning that it will not be avalible for PC's I decided to go and buy PS2 w/ 3 controllers and 2 memory cards

, alog with that I got GT3 and I'm about to play it with my brother

Its only for games, I have a DVD home theater to watch DVD's.

It apparently isn't good for the PS2. I'm not sure how, but I've heard it kills the motor. Mine doesn't even like to play games anymore. It laughs at me when I approach it with a DVD.

I don't know about that since most of the games are on dvd and I don't see the difference between playing a dvd game and watching a dvd movie can't be that different.

that was a good choice getting a ps2. but damn that was quick considering gt4 doesn't even have a release date yet. anyway, you'll have fun with it. If you like roll playing FFX is a must play.

edit: on second thought, about the DVD, I suppose a DVD game only loads for a short time, while a movie constantly reads for 2 hrs, so there may be something there. but I still don't think playing dvds wrecks the playstation.

I don't think Sony would have built in a DVD player to their PS2 if they thought it was gonna wreck it. And a must play series is Devil May Dry (both of them...really nice)

I got mine back around august or september last year with the warrenty from Besy Buy. i havent had any problems with it and i watch a lot of DVDs. but with the warrenty, i just take it back and get a new one, no questions asked.

on a side note, GT3 is awesome, Robotech battlecry rocks, Onimusha rocks, as does TER Zero, Pro Race Driver, and my newest one, Xeno Saga.

Dyansty Warriors 3 is pretty good if you like fighting games.. i heard DW4 is better

TXR zero was pretty fun, a good value buy. Xenosaga rocked until the end (semi-spoiler if you care). it just didn't wrap things up enough. games like that shouldn't be serials. my characters didn't even break level 50 and it just ended. cool story tho. I definatly will play the sequels. but that ending pi$$ed me off. hope they re-release Xenogears too which I heard they were considering. I only played a little of that game but it was fun.

and also, yes im sure you'll love your ps2, i have 16 games for i think, and i still play damn near all of em gt3 was my first, and i still play that more than anything probably, o, if u like exotics, NEED FOR SPEED HOT PURSUIT 2 is AWESOME!!, enjoy, o, i play dvd's all the time, never had a problem, but dont stand ur ps2 up vetically, it causes the game or movie to spin off balance and hit the eye which causes it to scratch the disk as well as damage the lens of your ps2, and one more thing, how old are you if u dont mind me asking???
