im glad i don't have pets. My Cat (didn't sleep inside) got ran over by a car (accident). My dog was murdered by a woman who i swear if i ever see again, i'll run over her legs til they are hanging by skin. I haven't totally given up on having pets, but for now, i'm taking a breather and making sure the next pet i have will live without the fear of being murdered.

Definitely. Now that I know what that thing was, I will keep the next bugger alive.

And yes, friendly fire fail...

Now your going to wake up with 5-6 mosquito bites and your going to facepalm yourself in the mirror, then shake your head in disapproval.

hahahhahahaahah no. although you see what mark is talking about when they charge you. my version would have it swimming in lighter fluid while taunting it with my grill lighter.

Those house centipedes SUCK. My sister had them in her house for a while.

I didn't even know about Mosquito Hawks, I just thought they were huge mosquitos!

the thing with house centipedes is that they're not all bad. they hunt down spiders, which is awesome, because i suffer from arachnophobia. what's not cool is that they sometimes attack people and they're major creepers.

Yeah, they kinda strike creepy. It's kinda just weird..but cool. Used to live in a basement, used to catch them at the side of my eyes scaling down the walls.

Just for coolness factor points, I'll allow you to play with light fluid and a bic lighter..

But they are pretty harmless..
wiki wrote:They are generally considered harmless to humans. Bites are not common, and the jaws of most house centipedes are not strong enough to penetrate human skin. Stings are generally no worse than a bee's sting, with its venom causing redness and mild to severe swelling.

yea but they look like they spontaneously multiply in size and eat your face off.

Arachnophobia FTL. Brown Spider videos don't help either.

not only are they fast, they also charge at you.
I will vouch for both speed and the fact that they will charge you. They were all over my basement. :ohno:

How lazy are you?

You couldn't read my first post OR my cliff notes? My cat found it for me and I killed it...

Yeah, then what? The centipede runs into your shoe?

I guess I take having a ton of crane flies for granted. I didn't realize they were a rarity elsewhere. When you walk up to my porch at night they repeatedly fly into you since there are tons of them. Of course plenty get in the house. I usually just catch them and throw them back outside.

As for something that actually scares the crap out of me, I killed a small snake (about 8 inches) in my bathroom the other night. It was aggressive but harmless according to the internet. I probably should have taken it outside but was full of adrenaline and felt killing it was the best option at the time.

You underestimate these insects

Its far worse than that

I'll either run up your leg, or jump, and climb your arm.

Also they like to crawl on you in the night times, or my personal fav, turn on the light, its on the ceiling, it jumps off and lands on ur head.

There are a lot of insects out there that are actually considered "good bugs" but honestly if it has more than 4 legs I'm killing it. I have a severe case of Arachnophobia but being the superstitious <Expletive Deleted> that I am I generally try to not kill spiders since it's supposed to be bad luck, I can handle being creeped out and screaming like a little girl and running in the opposite direction. This has helped me sort of face my fear.

As far as snakes are concerned, if you have a snake problem get yourself a lizard and a bag of lyme. Lizards hunt snakes and generally keep them out of your house, as far as the lyme is concerned, if you get a bag or 2 and put a fairly decent line of it around the perimeter of your house that will keep snakes away because it burns their skin.
