Something you are not telling us??? It would be nice if the mpg were up there with BMW. The 335i gets 20/29 and it's a TT.Poyzinous wrote:Well, Our infinitis also have a little bit more power, and broader torque band. And, a 3.69 rear diff, or 3.54 or 3.43The Ford uses a 2.93. That helps fuel economy a lot. And also, the Mustang is 350 pounds lighter. The G is heavier because its more comfy and luxurious, and a whole lot safer in accidents. Its strong. But don't worry. Next year, the G will have 10% less fuel consuption, and 6% more power.
There is the problem with the MPG in these cars. Axle ratio is too short.tollboothwilley wrote:Rear Diff:

2008+ G35 Coupe use a 3.69 FD
I believe all G37s use the 3.69 FD as well.
And here I thought it was an awesome amount of torque that nails you to the seat. My grand prix is running 3.29's and a metric butt ton of torque. My wife still can't beat me off of the line and she can drive it. Up top though is a bit of a different story...08.black.G37 wrote:Yup...but that is what nails ya to the seat when you take off and that is why I bought the car. If I wanted gas mileage, I would have bought a Prius.
He's talking about the new 2011 engines, not the 2010s.speedeast wrote:Lexus has been making cars with 340hp/25mpg, 416hp/23mpg, 438hp/22mpg...
I was surprised to hear Ford had that economy, so I did some research and I'm afraid I have to make some corrections to your claims:
2010 Mustang V6 w/MT - 26mpg hwy - 210hp2010 Mustang V8 w/MT - 24mpg hwy - 315hp
These are still impressive numbers, BUT:
2010 G37 Coupe V6 - 27mpg hwy - 330hp2010 G37 Sedan V6 - 27mpg hwy - 328hp2010 M56 V8 - 26mpg hwy - 420hp
Looks like it's Ford that needs to catch up.
no punt intended: but if you wanted MPG you shud've purchased a camry or accordrocket69GTP wrote:

I totally agree but I needed something with a little more "thrust" and had a great safety record. That POS Civic my wife was driving wasn't cutting it anymore.fiveliterbeater wrote:

Sorry, but I want my G35 Coupe with a cobra engine (and sound ) plus get 45 miles per gallon.......on regular.....while going uphill......in a school zone.....in the snow......and it gets even better mpg all out.fiveliterbeater wrote:

Hard to recover from the dark days of the mustang.....Mustang IIand the Pinto, but for me, the ford's that I owned were more reliable than the Nissan/Infinitis I've owned.speedeast wrote:Kudos to Ford, but unfortunately your reputation precedes you.
