There is a Z06 that I've had my eye on for a while. Took it for a test drive, and damn, that car is silly fast. The payments are about $100 more than the G's...

It's a hard decision, because I truly love my G, but that was so much power, in such a light car. I still might go back and get it, but am really undecided. The G is my dream car (Nissan Skyline), however, this car is just so fast, I really want it.

Guess I'll sleep on it for a few days, and then deceide.

***EDIT***

I forgot to mention, it handles as good as the G35 also...

Jacko, stay away from a test drive... you'll buy one for sure.

There will always be something faster. Corvettes are over rated and I remind myself that everytime I pull the sentra out of the garage.

I'm young and thin... maybe I don't qualify.

There is always something faster, but I don't have the opportunity to grab one very often.

Yes, a C5.

I have been on the tour, pretty interesting, especially when the car is complete and at the end of the assembly line and a tech jumps in, goes full throttle over some speed bumps and parks it.

Yeah, and exhaust. I did tell them that the exhaust would be stock when the G goes to them, if it does. They don't care either way, as long as it doesn't leak. They also want the Infiniti badging too... The spacer is something that they have no clue about, and asked if I had the stock intake too. Since I have all the stock parts, I would just put it all back to stock, and have a few parts to sell.

Like I said, something I have to sleep on.

You won't be able to sit in a GTR two years from now, let alone buy one for $30k.

Noah, I've been in the same boat as you for years. The problem is that the Corvette doesn't have a back seat. That's a deal breaker for the wife. The G35 was a compromise. And so you guys know, the vette can actually get better gas mileage than the G on the HW.

If not having a backseat isn't a big deal for you (kids) than do it!!

im talking about a 2 year old z06 with less than 15k, its going to be more like 50k and so will a bottom level gtr. 50k cash speaks...and its enough to have either of those cars in this market.

I own a 2003 Corvette and an 08 G35. I bought the G35 because it is fairly close to Corvette performance in a 4 person sedan.

The Corvette was built to race. It is quite a bit faster than the G35, and handles better. But it isn't the best car for daily commutes. It likes to be driven hard. Quality is fairly good. The interior is a little cheaper than cars costing more, but the engine and suspension is outstanding. transmission is fairly good. The surprising thing about the C5 Corvette is how comfortable it is on long trips. Oh, and it regularly gets 32 miles per gallon at 80 mph on the highway. Hard to beat that.

The G35 is my travel car. It is quick, great handling, and has all the nice technology things that make driving comfortable. Hands free navigation and telephone are great. It is a great car. Every bit as fun as the Corvette, but in a different way.

Flame all you want, but they are 2 different cars designed for 2 different things. Drive a Corvette and see what I mean.

It's a hawt car if you can afford the gas and don't need a back seat.

I sat in one but never drove one. You can literally feel the power just siting in it..lol

After a little bit of thought, the extra amount added to the monthly payment, and extra in gas I would be spending... I'll keep the G35. As much as I want fast, I love my G, and for the additional amount spent on the Vette, I can S/C the G...

Convincing my wife that aftermarket parts (S/C) are better than a stock Corvette will be the really hard part.
