The day that the sun rises in the west, will be the day I drive a Porsche.

let me tell you, i hope that day comes, because there are few things in this world that sound as sweet as that flat-6. insanely overpriced, but boy what a way to spend your inheritance.

(im prolly too big to fit in one, so pipe dream for now)

You know I love the G like hell. I see you have your eye set on another love. These things happen. I know how you feel.

Beano:

Check out the comment of "mnotx". He said,

"I own a 2003 Corvette and an 08 G35. I bought the G35 because it is fairly close to Corvette performance in a 4 person sedan. The Corvette was built to race. It is quite a bit faster than the G35, and handles better. But it isn't the best car for daily commutes. It likes to be driven hard. Quality is fairly good. The interior is a little cheaper than cars costing more, but the engine and suspension is outstanding. transmission is fairly good. The surprising thing about the C5 Corvette is how comfortable it is on long trips. Oh, and it regularly gets 32 miles per gallon at 80 mph on the highway. Hard to beat that.

The G35 is my travel car. It is quick, great handling, and has all the nice technology things that make driving comfortable. Hands free navigation and telephone are great. It is a great car. Every bit as fun as the Corvette, but in a different way.

Flame all you want, but they are 2 different cars designed for 2 different things. Drive a Corvette and see what I mean. "

There is some truth to "mnotx" comments. You may one day want a little zippy car like the G. What do you do then? I really know how you feel. Sleep tight on this decision. You can puercharge your G to get as close as possible to the Vette and still keep the comfort of a G. What do you think?

There is a dealership southside of where I live. I think I will be paying them a visit soon on this one.

I too have the same problem...I really want a C5 Z06. I think next spring i'm going to get it. The power is insane and it will be my second car so no worries about the backseat. BTW I haven't thought about it in a couple a months, so thanks for reminding me.

I don't like the C5's I would go with a C6 2005 instead of a C5 Zo6... The new ones are faster anyway and they look much better...

But i would keep the G and go S/C and Never tell the wife... But of I always manage the checkbook!

Well, I threw my 2 cents in there, so now let me add a couple more. I have driven a Corvette for years. They are fast, fun cars that like to race. 176 mph straight from the factory isn't to be laughed at.

But I am looking real close at the GT-R. There is something awfully fun about high revving, Swiss watch horsepower. The G's combine horsepower, handing, comfort, and technology very well. If I could only have 1 car, it would be a G.

Guess that makes it a total of 4 cents now.

I always call the G the Porsche when talking to my wife about it.

I almost bought a 2002 Base 911 6spd/sunroof/turbo body kit/18' turbo wheels instead of the G.

The G was faster to 60 and has a useable backseat.

I disagree on this one. I believe Corvette is underrated. I owned C5 coupe, and lots of people told me how Corvette does not handle. If you know what you are doing, it is capable of chasing an Evo on twisties.

Like others are saying, I have a family, so I got my G35, and I love me Skyline! But once my kids are older, I'm going back to Corvette. It has good amount of power, and surprisingly, does not let you feel its size.

I was in a bad car accident two years ago. I was driving an 03 G35. Its nose was taken off, it stoped and did not move after it was hit. I owe my life to the G. It was replaced with 35X

It's a hard decision, because I truly love my G, but that was so much power, in such a light car. I still might go back and get it, but am really undecided. The G is my dream car (Nissan Skyline), however, this car is just so fast, I really want it.

Guess I'll sleep on it for a few days, and then deceide.

***EDIT***

I forgot to mention, it handles as good as the G35 also...

Jacko, stay away from a test drive... you'll buy one for sure.
Beaner, I've driven several vettes over the years, but got to drive a new BLACK Z06 and thought seriously about how far in debt it would put us.....and didn't get it. It was awesome!! It was the one that ONLY had 385 HP.....Never really told the wifie how much I considered trading....
