I'd kill to have a girl tell me she loved me before I told her I loved her...I doubt it'll happen though, I never date needy enough girls

sounds like ntn knows the scent of a clingy, self-esteemless girl. I like my girls to be mature enough to know what love really is. That happens when you date girls over 16 years old

sorry to be so blunt everyone, but younger girls dont know what love is, so they just throw the word around like it's no big deal. Date older, more mature WOMEN and not young GIRLS and you will see what I mean.

To a point, you're correct. Clingy definitely describes it.

However, the neither of the girls I reference are/were self-esteemless.

More importantly, they are/were mature enough to understand it. It's rare, but people around my age occasionally do mature beyond their years. Sometimes they don't even mean to, but circumstances in their life force it.

It's not whether she (#2) understands it that I question, it's whether it's for the right reasons.

Age is not an indicator of maturity. Mature acts are indicators of maturity. Never confuse those two.

Altiman is right. There's an exception to every rule, but 9/10 of the time young girls are idiots (in fairness so are young guys). Experience typically results in maturity, and time (or circumstance, in a handful of situations) is required.

Never said it didn't. My point is that there are exceptions, it's just a matter of finding them.

Moreover, experience is not entirely dependent on age (though it doesn't hurt).

Live and learn. Can't knock the ignorant and naive. Just be glad you're better than that now and prepare for the dumb stuff you'll continue to do in the future.

you can't become wise by not being stupid first.

be young, foolish and brash. You'll look back and laugh at it. I need to be more foolish and brash...

Uh, as a good driver, you need to prepare for that stuff. Hitting someone because they don't have brake lights is no excuse. You should know how close your car is to the vehicle in front of you. Not go by when the other person brakes. Just my two cents.

meh.. he just needs z-brakes and sticky rubber..

Anyway, I would like to toss in my .02 while we're still on the subject of "mature girls". In my experience, I've noticed that a lot of the mature girls are becoming more and more common. Since children start growing up at young ages nowadays, maturity comes along with it.

And one thing you all need to clarify is what you mean by love. Peoples' definitions vary widely... so you need to come up with something constant.

lol, Mike, close calls AHAHAHAHAHA... I've had so many, but it's a different kind of immaturity. Emotionally I'd venture to say I'm a bit above your average 17yr old, but in other ways (risk taking, for instance) I'm an adrenaline junky.

cav's got it too, kids grow up at younger ages now (trust me), so things change earlier on. This is particularly true of younger siblings (at least, from my experience as one). We grow up with 3 parents (or more), rather than the normal 2, as our siblings act more like parents than siblings until they get older (college), at which point things change.

Anyways, James is right on, you never learn if you never f-things up.

*brushes dust off shirt*These days a girl would have to pay me to say it. I'm keeping the lips closed on the L-word. Best responses to someone who declares their love for you:

1. I love being with you.2. Youre an amazing person.3. I absolutely adore you.4. Awwww, youre sweet!5. I dont know what I'd do without you.6. Hold on my phone is cutting out.7. Hey, remember that scene from Zoolander where theyre having the orgy and elves get in bed with Derek, Hans, and Matilda?

one thing i've learned. girls always play games. even when they say "i dont want games" and/or "i want you to be honest with me" you can bet the games have begun.

IMHO,

Love doesn't just have one simple meaning to it

It is like a bucket to say...

It can be afilled a little or a lot... (endless bucket at that)

If I caught it correctly, you guys were tlaking about something and it was a light and funny conversation and you said something witty right???

and thats when he dropped the "I Love you" line... right?!?!?!

I wouldn't take taht seriously in that way.

To me, that "I Love you" is because you make h im laugh like no other..

Yea, he must have feelings for you and they probably are growing day by day.

3 weeks may not seem much but in the matters of heart, it could be plenty.

No one really knows what Love is and to what depth Love can go to.

You can call infatuation Love, It's a very thin line between all of that..

Love can also be thought of as Lust.. who knows!?!?

But as far as your situation goes Vicki, He said I love you when it was a funny conversation and you made him laugh.

I seriously think, he probably is thinking that he is *maybe* falling in love with you but it just came out prematurely because of the who situation....

it's allright, you souldn't be worried about it...

Love just gets deeper and stronger as time goes... it never stops... that is real love.
