Quote »NORCAL BAY/SACTO July 23 05 Toys for Tots meet and drive

****(Meeting are to be determined soon) *****

As usual this meet and drive is open to ALL CARS. The event has been posted on the following message boards. Feel free to post it other places.http://www.bimmerfest.comhttp://forums. ... ngnet.com/

**If you wish to join the email list for event please send a email to [email protected] or PM me**

The day’s events will go as follows. Meet and setup for a mini car show and have lunch. After lunch we will go on the planned drive. The drive is not a race or to see who has a better car. If you wish to showboat then take it to a track. I and those who volunteer to help me will not tolerate any showboating. If you do we will stop the drive and ask you to leave. Please respect others and others space while driving. There will be also 1 or 2 photo opps for the drive.

The event website with maps and these details are on
This is a huge meet. I went to it last time and there were well over 100 cars. It's also a toy drive to help needy children. Last year the bmw group was strong, there was a group NSX's and even a lotus elise showed up. I will keep you guys posted when I recieve more information. Feel free to add yourself to the list.

Also there will be caravans from sacramento, east bay, etc. I will keep you guys posted on those too.

UPDATE!Quote »The July Toys for Tots Meet and drive will be held in the parking lot of

Regal Cinemas 20 and IMAX Hacienda Crossings5000 Dublin Blvd, Dublin CA 94568

This is off HW 580 on the Hopyard RD exit.

We will be meeting towards the back of the parking lot neat BEST BUY. If you come in you can’t miss the group of cars. We will be meeting AT 11:00Am and heading off for the drive around 1:00PM.

For those who are going on the drive, this is one of the most energizing rounds I have scouted out for this meet. I will not post the run until the night before. If you are on my email list you will get the run before hand. It has some VERY challenging areas and some areas the make for great photo opps. Total drive length is 55 miles and will take about 2 hours figuring photo shoot stops.
Problem with these forums is people dont often check the meets section. I already have a email list compiled for norcal people who signed up for meet notification. I will be emailing a link to this thread to them. Just to make them aware of the event. I personally like this idea. Toys for tots car run that is. I may be making this run if my car is completely street legal by then.

Yeah, same situation with 240sx.com forums and zilvia. Not many people check the regional forums. But I didn't want to post it in the wrong place. Mayb if I did and they moved it, it would get more views.

As for caravans, I will get back to you guys with info regarding caravans from various locations such as sacramento, san francisco, east bay, etc. as soon as I get the information passed down to me.

For those not familiar with the area, if you're headed down 680 south, you'll take the 580 east turnoff towards Dublin/Stockton(?) and keep straight, you'll see the big colorful thearer off the freeway to your left, you'll want to exit on Hopyard and make a left at the light. Then get in your right lane immediately. Just after the overpass you'll see the theater, Barnes and Noble, Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, etc. in there. Can't miss it!

There is 2 different email lists. There is one that is specifically for this event in which you will get an email the night before on the route for the run. That email is his. In the first post in this thread. You need to send him an email requesting the map. The other email list is for nor cal event notification from the link in my signitiure. If you would like to get on that list for future events post in that thread and I will list you and put your email in my email list.

CHIMERA I need an email for you to put in my list. I got you in the thread but have no way to notify you of upcoming events via email.

Holy crap guys sorry about the lack of updates, I kinda forgot I posted it on here, too many forums to keep track of.. lol. Anywhoo, here's a full update for you guys.

CARAVAN INFOSoutbay Group:Meet at Great Mall, top level of the parking structure @10am, we'll head out at about 10:30am.

Sacramento GroupMeet at the Chevron off W Capitol and Industrial just before the cause way at 9:00am. Leaving at 9:30am on the dot.

Remember to bring a toy for the event. Any new, used, unwrapped, wrapped, just something to help a less fortunate child. If you can’t think of anything go to the dollar store and grab something. Anything for boys and girls please.

Below is where to meet when you arrive.

Also don't forget two way radios! We'll be on channel 4.0

Sidenote: I checked out part of the run, and will be going back again to be aware of the road conditions. Some parts are fairly dangerous, so don't overpush your cars guys, last thing I'd want to see is a car sliding off a cliff.

Great Mall of Milpitas, right? I did not know they had a multi-level parking structure now - have not been there in a while. Which set of stores is it near?

Hi, all.

None of the map links has worked for me - either no verky or needs password access, etc. So try this instead:

Yup, Great Mall of Milpitas. The parking structure is a small one right in front of tower records.

Thanks! I may join up with you all there, but it is almost easier for me to drive North on 680 from where I am in San Jose (Evergreen). So, if I can make it but am late, I will go to Pleasanton straight.

Very close, yes! I am a bit further west (assuming I am thinking of the correct high school - the new one, right?). Very near the new JFS Elementary near Yerba Buena Road and Silver Creek Valley Road.

It did used to be at stanford. I wasn't there for the stupid mustangs though, I went last year, but I guess it's bi-annual. If stangs ruined it, why post it on stangnet.. When I went there where 2 hondas, one civic coupe turbo, and one S2k that went on the drive. There were like 8 NSX's but they didn't drive the mountains with us.

Thanks again!

Actually, the guy you e-mailed about the run is a completely different guy. I'm just spreading the word about it. I don't know if there's a post meet run the day before. A few people got to have the map before hand (me). But not everybody, because nobody wants the map up on some forums and all these cops there before we're there Anywhoo.. if anybody is interested, there's also something to do after the big drive.

Ah! Understood!

Well, as I said, I am planning to be there at the meet - barring unforeseen circumstances - but I have not yet decided if I will go on the run. Lots of stuff to do that weekend, unfortunately.
