Not mandatory for this meet!

There is a separate e-mail list that NISTECH is maintaining for notifications to be sent about NorCal meets in general ... there is a thread in this forum that you can put your info into.

Actually I think he preffers you to emial him with your email to get the map. I will not be sending that out. I only did the event notification and a link to this thread if you want to email him to get on the list.

Some things came up here at home so I wont be able to make that event.

Met up with Evan (Ev_eezy) and Caleb (sensibleS13driver) at the meet. I did not have a camera, so Evan took the only pictures from our group. Hope he posts them when he gets back from the run (I did not go!) later this evening.

Lots of BMWs of various ages and sizes, including a 1994 Dinan 8 with 46K miles - a weekend toy as the owner said. A few M3s and an M5 various 3 Series and 5 series - some older ones too.

One BMW was heavily "audio and video intensified", with a trunk mounted DVD player, three power amps in the floor (one subwoofer amps, two stereo amps for front and back), had a 13" subwoofer attached to the back of the rear seat! A full 5.1 surround system basically.

Some 240s (including Calebs), an Altezza, a souped up (I think) Subaru Imprezza, and only (!) two Infiniti's: my 2003 M45 and Evan's 1990 Q45 IPQ - in great looking shape for a 15 year old car!).

Also saw two or three 350Zs and a 300Z (1990+ - did not get its actual age, owner was never near the car when I was!). A few Mustangs - one was a Mustang GT Bullitt edition.

None of the expected Ferraris and Lambos showed!

Only two guys were near my age! The owner of the Dinan 8 and one of the 350Z owners - I guess meets are a young person's thing!

EDIT: Forgot to mention that it was hot out there today ... 104 F in Dublin at about 1:30pm and 107 F (!) in San Jose at about 3pm or so - according to the car outside thermometer. Unbelievable for this location!

Hi, i8YOURFWD.

Could you let us know what happened to the Dinan 8 driver? I saw the pictures.

I hope he and his son (who I think was along?) are okay ... along with the two M3 owners!

Apperantly they're all ok. All drivers are ok, walked away from it. I feel so bad for the guy with the Dinan 8. He wasn't the usual "I own bmw you are inferior to me" kinda guy. He commented on both my 240 and my friends 240, told us he likes our cars , they're clean, bla bla. He even liked the "jdm style" licence plate. He was overall a great guy. He even apoligized for holding up the meet. O_O!!

Ah! That is good to know - Evan (Ev_eezy) also told us the same thing over in Infiniti General.

Whew.

There was at least 80-85 cars that went on the drive alone, not to mention the 150-180 or so that were at the meet part of it. It was a lot of fun, even the drive was a blast until the drama. 2-way radios and driving rules!

Well, can't compete with the Ford GT's, I suppose, but as Evan mentioned, there were many cars on this meet and drive! Although this was my first one, I'd say it was HUGE!

there was drama?damn what happened?

seriously i was somewhat mad that i missed the meet, before seeing the pics, now that i saw the pics... seems like i didnt miss anything.

i seriously thought that since this meet would have ferraris/bmw/benz (highclass cars) i assumed that the 2 ford gt's along with the esprit & f355 i saw, were going to that meet, since they were headed towards dublin...

It is in Ev_eezy's pics ... the last few show the Dinan 8 in a sad state!
