I'm pretty sure they'll all be sold out by now. I ordered mine from costcentral yesterday. And their website was hosed (I'm assuming from all the people trying to order). It took a number of tries before the request actually went through. Once I have the item in hand I'll feel more confident that the order was placed correctly.

HP also just announced that they will still be making updates to the Touchpad and Veer for now:

Called all local Best Buys here, all sold out (automated message because so many are calling). Called OfficeDepot, Staples, etc. Sam's club (2 in my town) both said they sold their entire lot in 2hrs.

Not surprising. Even if Android doesn't get ported over, I can still use it as another Kindle reader as well as for light web browsing. Definitely worth the $100 for those two things alone.

Same here, I will just use my ipad if it I need to do something it won't. There's already more tablet apps for it than Android tablet apps anyways, so I don't care unless they port a non tablet version over, so I can use everything on it. I just wish it would hurry up and get here! I'm itching to mess with it!

I've heard that some Amazon orders are being cancelled because the vendor misquoted inventory. My order is still waiting shipping so hopefully it goes through. At least I got one of them. I like it. It's totally worth it. Heck, its the worlds best gps unit for $99. It beats my phone for web browsing. Get a Bluetooth keyboard and you can nearly make it a laptop.

I was poking around at Best Buy tonight. During the 10 minutes that I was standing in the tablet/laptop aisle, two people walked up asking about the Touchpad.

Maybe this will spark enough interest in Palm for HP to sell it to someone else. Nah....



I noticed that the Android tablets were less enjoyable to use, and it wasn't because of software. Their displays weren't as easy to glide your finger across as the iPad. For light gaming (like Angry Birds) or drawing, it was very noticeable. For browsing it wasn't a big deal except when scrolling.

Looks like they might be preparing for the possibility that they oversold their supply.

Hey guys, whats the deal with the data plan on this thing? If I get one when the final remaining shipment hits store, can I just add it onto my T-Mobile data plan along with my Galaxy S phone?

They don't offer one with a data plan, they're Wifi only. You can probably pay for tethering on your phone though, or root your phone so you can tether for free, then connect to your phone via the Touchpad as an internet connection.

Sams Club. My father in law ordered one from HP and they said that they would give him a confirmation ASAP, but they had no timeframe due to the high volume. He also ordered one from Barnes and Noble and somewhere else, B&N cancelled his order though. So he's hoping that out of the two places left, he'll at least get one.

Me either, my father in law would have, but I am not that desperate for anything. If I have to fight through crowds, drive all over town, or wait in insanely long lines, I'll pass. Not worth the effort to have it when everyone else has to as well.
