Just got another call from the dealer...

The headers can't be installed until the motor is in the bay.

The Clutch looks like it has been dropped and they won't install it in my car...

I am trying to get a hold of Concept Z performance but they are not open yet... I am freaking out cuz they want to install an Nissan Clutch!

Perry,

Let me just say that even if I had a Vortech S/C on my car the dealer can't discriminate against me. They would still have to provide me with a loaner...

And the dealers don't care about the loaners. The buy them so cheep and use them for about 20k miles and then they sell them at the auction for almost what they paid for them!

It is a very low cost solution for Infiniti since the G holds its value very well!
I don't believe there is anything that states what loaner they have to provide? Therefore they can discriminate all they want.

actually they do have to provide you with an Infiniti. That is one of the perks of buying an Infiniti over a Nissan. It has just become a norm.

Now I'm not b****ing because the clutch disk was damaged and they are waiting the 1 day for the new one to be shipped to them...

I am going to be taking the guys lunch at the dealer today!

According to Infiniti they at participating dealers will provide you with a 'service loan car' (in one place they mention 'Infiniti Service loan car') when it is in for 'basic' warranty repairs. Then they have additional provisions as far as availability and so on. So is the defininiton of 'Infiniti Service loan car really stating it is an Infiniti, or is it stating that they are providing you a 'loan car' as part of the Infiniti Service? Nowhere does it seem to mention that I have run into that states a 'loan Infiniti car'.

I would think however they need to give you an appropriate loan car if they do give you one, for example you stated the beast they gave you smelled of smoker. If you were a non-smoker then they should give you a car that doesn't reak of smoke. But from what I read in their Total Ownership Experience they could give you a Yaris or if nothing is available from Infiniti Service, nothing at all.

You have a 2006, this is from the 2006 Warranty manual:

------------------------------------

SERVICE LOAN CAR PROGRAMAs part of The Infiniti Total Ownership Experience®,a participating Infiniti dealer will provide you with acomplimentary Infiniti Service Loan Car when youpresent your Infiniti vehicle for warranty repair to aparticipating Infiniti dealer during the new vehiclelimited warranty basic coverage period, subject toavailability and the eligibility requirements listedbelow. The Eligibility Requirements for Service Loan Carare as follows:• Only available during the 4 years/60,000 mileInfiniti New Vehicle Limited Warranty basic coverageperiod.• You must be 21 years of age or older with a validU.S. driver’s license.• You must provide proof of primary insurance.• You must schedule the service appointment inadvance.*• Other restictions apply to loan car includingmileage use and days use limitations.***Depending upon availability, exceptions to theservice appointment requirement may be made inthe event your vehicle is inoperable due to unexpectedmechanical failure. In such a circumstancethe participating Infiniti dealer will strive to provideyou with a Service Loan Car if possible.** Ask your dealer for details.Note: This program is NOT a warranty, and is NOTpart of the Infiniti New Vehicle LimitedWarranty, but rather a benefit of The TotalOwnership Experience®. This program issubject to change without notice at any time.

----------------------------------------

Now from a typical dealer, wording common to others:

----------------------------------------

Service Loaner Policy

Kearny Mesa Infiniti is proud to provide our customers with a Loaner car when they drop off their Infiniti for service or warranty repairs. We are proud to provide this form of alternative transportation. If you will be in need of alternative transportation please notify the service department personnel at the time you make your appointment. We will always endeavor to provide you with an Infiniti motor car to drive. From time to time we may use an alternative vehicle from a rental car agency.

At the time of service write-up you will be asked to sign a loaner or rental car agreement prior to your departure from our service department. Please be advised that you must be 21 years of age, a valid drivers license and a current valid insurance card, you may want to verify with your insurance provider, the terms of coverage you have when driving a loaner or rental vehicle. We do not provide a loaner car for express services. Please be sure that you ask your Kearny Mesa Infiniti representative any questions you may have about the use of the features of your loaner vehicle or any other questions or concerns you have.

---------------------------------------

Note they simply state they will strive to provide you with an Infiniti which should make sense because they should have a couple around, however ........................ they further state the use of something from a rental agency. I believe you will find that dealers have a fair amount of latitude in regard to internal policies when it comes to dealer provided services.
