How to upgrade to a Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror

Hi all !

I just bought a 2005 G35 Sedan and i'm very excited about it. It came with the regular rear view mirror and i really want the auto dimming one. I checked with the local Infiniti dealer, they are charging $700 for the mirror! and $100 for installation provided if the wire is already there.

Is there a way i can check if the wire is there or not? Has anyone bought aftermarket mirror or knows if an 03-04 mirror will work on this one?

Also, when the car starts up, i smell stale water smell from the A/C. i think it's the filter, i have no idea if that is the culprit and where is it located?

Not sure on the mirror thing... haven't come accross anyone here changing it out.

The auto dimming mirrors suck ***. Although they do dim, its never enough. I wish i had my old manual mirror.
