Disclaimer: DOnt blame me for SHAT! This is just a guide for hatches and coupes hardtops only. No verts! Theres a thread for you vert guys.

Tools you are going to need:

3/8 drive ratchet or 1/2 whichever size you have matchin sockets toextensionSockets sized: 9,10, and 14 or 15. (Probably other sizes but this dosent include dash removal which youre going to have to do)Screwdriver both flat and phillipsA good fabric cutting scissorsAnd a brain

15 socket not pictured nor the brain

Should take.. 1-3 hours to fully remove everything, depending on you.

Basically to remove your oem carpet which im assuming is all one piece under the dashboard and over the trans tunnel hump Youre going to have to remove your dashboard which is in another write up im going to link here:

zerothread/228752

and your seats. To remove your seats youre gonna need a ratchet and a size 15 socket. Pretty simple stuff, remove both drive and passenger seats.

(However if you intend to not use your carpet over again you can simply remove the glovebox and center console and cut down the middle. When you get to the part thats way under the dashboard youre gonna only be able to cut up to the black foot vent box thats there. You have to remove the passenger side foot vent box which is on the right in the 11th picture of this thread. Use a 10 monkey wrench to remove it, a ratchet will not be able to sit because of the dashboard. It slips right off and gives you room to now cut over to the right side. Youll have to cut as far as you can and then work some cutting from the passenger side footwell

Your car should go from this

to look like this now (excuse the seats)

Next youre going to remove your kickpanels and door sill plastic cover thingys. Screw those out, its pretty simple so im not gonna list the steps as far as that. If you cant get your kick panels out then just stop now.

pictured is the door sill thingy

Then remove your dead pedal and the accelerator pedal stop (which is under the accelerator pedal) The dead pedal is best removed by using a ratchet and size 10 socket to loosen, then just screw it out with a driver. Its better than starting with the screwdriver cause you just might strip the screw.

This is the dead pedal

I dont have a picture of the accelerator pedal stop removed my car didnt have 1.

Moving along now with the seats, dash, and kick panels, and center console fully removed youre now going to have to remove these 2 things.

The gold box and the little bracket with 2 size 10 screws.

Removed, one piece carpet exposed under now.

Now to move to the "hard part" Looking directly at what is exposed you can see over the trans tunnel my carpet is one piece.

Under the dashboard is also 1 piece

View from infront the shifter

There is a little box under the dash idk wat it is, youre going to have to remove it to gain access to cut. On the passenger side there is a bracket it is held in by a silver screw which is size 10 and in the middle of the dash youre gonna need an extension and a size 9 socket to screw it out. Pictured below on the right is whats on the passenger on the left is wats in the middle. once you get those screw out pull the boxes out.

This should be a picture of it removed i cant remember but also my carpet is cut now so dont mind that part

NOW were going to move to the back of the car where the carpet stops by the rear seats. Youre going to Pop those three clips off, yours may or may not be screwed down... mine wasnt. Use your brain here. Once those are off you can start pulling the carpet off and from under the 1/4 panel interior panels. Pull the carpet up over the seat belts there is a little black plastic ring u have to remove on both side to get the carpet over the seat belts closest to the trans tunnel and driveshaft tunnel.

THis is how it looks, pulls right off.

Now begins the cutting.

Cut directly down the middle all the way to the firewall anywhere that is connected.

Behind the shifter by where the gold box was.

Infront the shifter over the trans hump and i dont have it picutred but cut under the dash straight down the middle too. After that there may be 1 more little thing u looked over.

THis little thing

In my coupe it was on the passenger side in my hatch i see it on the driver side. idk wat it is, just remove it with a phillips screwdriver.

Once that is off you should be free to pull the carpet out. Take youre time of course.

My carpet out and you can see the cut down the center

My interior with the carpet removed. btw Enjoy all the goodies you find under, i made a dollar in coins.

Evidently to put a carpet back undo the steps. Good luck

pretty good except for cutting the carpet. if you do that the carpet wont sit nice and tight there anymore. in my last 240 the last guy cut the carpet and it was all floppy at the trans tunnel

A-F, I have to give you a D..... because there was some effort. You took the dash out, but still cut it? You know if you were going to cut it you never needed to take out the dash?

the dash was taken out of the coupe to remove the hud i was planning to swap dashboards. i didnt take it out just to cut the carpet. And even with the dash out i still didnt find it possible to remove the carpet from under there in one piece and out from under the brake cable. Cutting it is very simple and zipties can hold it back in place. I didnt tell every1 cut their carpet thats just how i got mine out. And as far as write ups to remove the carpet there are none so if you guys know better ways then be my guest and help the community. But anyways thank you school teacher for my grade.

There def is a 9 used (unless i assumed the size was a 9 because it was the smallest on the tool rack i took it from, ill check in a few) i used it today to remove the driver side foot vent its 1 screw ill have to go look 4 it and place it in the socket ill show u later. Its possible the size for the seat is a 14 but i def used a 15 to get it out and it fit and worked. ill get a screw and socket and take a pic of that too.

yes the front carpet from any s13 will work, but you'd want to stick with zenki carpet since its better quality

seats are 14mm, atleast in zenkis they are but of course im sure they used the same bolts for the s13 and s14 dont worry though i've used 15's when i couldnt find my 14 lolor 11's and i lost my 10 lolgood stuff though i didnt know the removing carpet from a 240 was such a PITA. The previous owner of my coupe demolished the carpet, it even looks like it was on fire at one pointbut damn i dont wanna do all this work for just carpetany idea how much it would cost to get this done at a shop or somethen?and does s14 carpet fit in a coupe? Cause no joke they're carpet is really damn nice

You can remove the carpet without removing the dash i edited a part in yesterday for that. And no i dont think the s14 carpet can fit the s13 chassis.
