Hello everyone!

I tried to search the internet and this forum but didn't find the answer to my question.

I need to remove the front grill to install new horns (Fiamm El Grande). I was able to remove the 8 clips at the top part of the grill but the grill is still attached to the bumper by 2 other clips on either side. I can't find out how to detach those 2 clips. Can anyone tell me how please? Thanks in advance.

In all my searches I can only see how to remove the 8 top clips and they're pretty easy. It's the clips that attach the grill to the bumper that I'm having trouble with.

Those two clips will come out, and i know they can be stubborn, but just apply pressure and the should pop out.
Just watch this video, this guy makes it look too easy.

Thanks for the reply and for the link.

Just some questions though. With the Murano, looks like those 2 stubborn clips are attached to something sturdy. But on the Rogue, those clips are attached to the bumpers. When I try to pull the grill, the small/thin part of the bumper beside the headlights come with it. I'm afraid if I pull I might break the bumper or ruin the bumper's paint.

Do I really just have to pull the grill out? Is there a way to ease those 2 clips so they won't require much pulling?

In my experience, yes they wouldnt budge, but eventually if you are pushing down the tabs at the same time your pulling on the grill. They should just slide out.

One thing that i did do which ended up bad was, I took my nissan emblem off and broke one of te tabs. I guess that plastic isnt that durable.
The bumper on the other hand is very durable. I would be more worried about the tabs then the bumper.

So be paitent, maybe work each side back and forth until they are free.

The thing that's in that hole -- where the head looks like some sort of hexagon with a notch on top. That's exactly what I'm having trouble with.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, The problem was that i actually didn't know how to remove those clips.
I had never seen them before, since i just purchased my car. I actually was talking about the grills on past cars.

Anyway, i have been meaning to take my grill out because i was going to paint the chrome. So tonight
i made it my task to get that grill off. I did accomplish my mission.

You have to get a flat head screw driver in the back and push towards the headlight. The little hook thing is
whats holding the bumper in place.

So now that this is done.

And now that i have my chrome off the grill.

I'm weighing my options here.

Can the 3 people that still read these forums vote in on which color variant they would choose. Keep in mind that i'm going to take my bug deflector off, and hopefully black out the inside chrome of my head light assemblies.

Thank you in advance, Another thing to consider is i have Anthracite painted wheels on order which might throw off blacking out all the chrome.
I could try and color match the wheels. I'm not exactly sure if this would look good at all. My wheel order got pushed back almost 2 months, and
i kinda want to go ahead and paint the grill since i have it in pieces.

I'd personally go for number 3 grill but include coloring the remaining chrome beside the emblem and then number 1 for the emblem.

I tried to get the color to match what my wheel color will look like, from pictures only.
I liked the idea, but i think its starting to make the all around design too busy.

I like this one better (last photo). But personal opinion again, maybe color the "mesh" beside the emblem the same color used on the chrome grills.

I kinda like the v shape around the logo, reminiscent of the Juke and 2014 Rogue concept. I might have to roll with it like that.
Took the bug deflector off, noticed that there were a couple of spots where the paint was starting to get scratched from the brackets.
Guess its staying off now.

Its just kinda funny the way people acting about the grill on this forum. There was a subject awhile ago like "im redy for a new grill" for '08 model so whoever had chrome - they wanted either the same color as the car grill or black and if it was painted to the color of the car they wanted it chrome.

REMOVAL
1. Fully open hood.
2. Remove front grille upper side fixing clips.
3. Disengage front grille mounting clips (B) by rotating 45° using a
flat-bladed screwdriver (A) through access hole of front grille (1)
upper while pulling front grill toward vehicle front.
4. Disengage front grille fixing pawls from back side of front grille while pull front grille horizontally to word
vehicle front, and then remove front grille.
5. Remove the front emblem after removing front grille.

I assume you have #2 done and it's #3 you are having issues with so this might help:

I am the original owner of a 2010 Rogue. I've been meaning to plastic dip the chrome grill for several years now and have finally gotten around to buying the black plastic dip.
I had originally planned on spraying the grill while on, but most people say to remove grill for application as you don't want dip in the radiator.

How difficult is it to remove the grill? I've YouTubed and can't find anything Rogue specific. Can I just remove the grill or does whole front bumper need to come off?

I really need some instructions on how to do this. Thanks!

The bumper definitely doesn't have to come off.

There should be some exploded views in the factory service manual that should help you to envision what's entailed if no one else chimes in.

To follow this question.... Do you know if the 2012 grill is a bolt on install on a 2008?

Sorry to necro this thread, but I cannot find the information I'm looking for anywhere. Are there any instructions or videos you guys know of that explain how to remove the front grille on a 2011 rogue SV? I assume it would be the same process for all models from 2008 to 2013 right? I cannot find any videos or service manuals that show this info, Im only finding instructions for newer models or Muranos.

I'm specifically trying to remove the two chrome pieces off the right and left sides of the grille so it looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/xywXO7N.jpg

If there are no instructions online, would you guys know if I would have to take the entire bumper off to remove these chrome bezels on the sides of the grille? or can I take them with the number still attatched?

I can't really understand that second picture. there's no place to put a flat heat on that thing. Could you explain what you mean by "rotating it 45 degrees"?
