Hi.
I am a Pathfinder 2012 V6 owner and have a problem with the radio/ handsfree. I have tried to remove the radio console but am not able to remove the little compartment under the console to be able to remove the screws in the bottom of the console. This compartment is a little different from other models which i can find on youtube. In earlier models there are 4 screws. On my model there are only 2 visible. Something is holding it in the upper part. Have anyone an advice how to remove this? I am living in Norway.

If memory serves there should only be one or two screws under the coin tray holding the entire HVAC panel, but you need to remove the shift knob and shifter finisher or the bottom of the panel won't let go. The finisher just pries off once you remove the knob.

You are right that there are two screws that holds the hole panel (console). But to reach those I need to remove the coin tray. It is something that holds this tray that is invisible. On 2011 model this tray is easily removed when removing 4 visible screws.

If the pawls got broken someone may have glued it down. There shouldn't be anything but pawls holding the tray.

I have owned this car from it was almost new so there has been no gluing. If it is pawls how can I get it free because the control panel is blocking a forward move and it seems that pulling it down also is impossible.

Dunno what to tell you, friend. It's supposed to just pry out, and there's no way to get at the main panel screws without removing it. If it's stuck fast, you may need to break it.

I love a puzzle. This is a good one. Page IP-21 of the FSM shows where the 6 clips are that are stuck and need to be pried out. Focus on those clip locations to pry it off. https://www.nicoclub.com/service-manual ... 2%2FIP.pdf

Thanks. This Service manual does not fit my model. The actual problem part is not identisk. My pathfinder is a 3dCi V9X.

Not fair! This puzzle does not have a European translation, that I could find. I found the engine service manual for that diesel, but nothing else. More patience and careful examination is all I can recommend. I can't imagine the interior being that much different, aside from the driver and passenger side being a mirror image, sort of, compared to those made for the USA. I'm guessing Norway, Denmark, or Sweden for where you are.

I found this video on removing this dashboard unit. >>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0XIUi8 ... tMechanics
It's for a '08 Pathfinder but practically identisk to a 2012. Okay, it's not a European build but I was hoping this might help.

You can upload your images or video to a hosting site (such as imgur or flickr) and link them to NICO by using the image feature. I'm not quite sure how it's done. I found one how to article here. >>> how-to-post-pictures-using-photobucket-t521110.html
There may be other ways to do it but I am not sure.

I found an interior picture of a 2012 from Australia. Is this what you have? >>> https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File ... 10-26).jpg
It looks similar to a USA model but there are detail differences in the center console and instrument panel. I'm still lacking any detail resource views of how it's put together and taken apart but I assume there must be archive documents of this stored online somewhere.

That looks very much like a hybrid between an R52 Pathy and a gen1 Armada. If it's like the R52, there will be a small panel at the base of the display screen that pries out, then a single retaining screw underneath it. If it's like the gen1 Armada, it's actually retained from the bottom. The panel directly above the console coin tray has to come out, then there are two 4mm (8mm head) screws buried deep underneath at a slight down-angle, you really need to get your head down with a flashlight to see them.

My guess is you're barking up the wrong tree, that box is probably attached to the base of the radio support and the panel is attached at the top like an R52. Look for something around the video screen that will pry out.

At 1:24 - 1:34 in the video, I see what looks like a possible release pawl in the upper right and left corners. With a flat screwdriver, can these two features be pushed in to release that compartment at the top and allow it to drop down for removal?

I think I have tried to push those without success. But I will investigate those further.
