hi everyone,

I have change my mind about creating a how to guide. instead i will like to make it possible to ask any question regarding car audio for the Nissan pathfinder.

i will also like if everyone can post a picture of there setup and spec.

update 1/7/08: I have taken out the pioneer 780mp and install Pioneer AVIC-D3 w/ ipod 80gb.

iIwill put up for sale the (2) Rockford Fosgate t1001 amp which i would replace with one Rockford Fosgate t3001 or t4001 amp.

i have install the kinetic batteryupdate 2/8/08: just sold (2) Rockford Fosgate T1001 and will be replace with (1) Rockford Fosgate T3001 amp.

spec:1000 watt @ 4 ohm2000 watt @ 2 ohm3000 watt @ 1 ohmbirth sheet: 3800 watts @ 1 ohm

I will post picture as soon as i receive the amp.

guy/gal, i just post some picture of the pathfinder. please note the last few pic (Grey interior) are of my last pathfinder but i have the same setup in my current pathfinder.

Hey ganesh - great idea! In fact I had the same idea - I did my install this summer and took pictures all the way through. I'm about 5 pages into the document I'm writing but I only get a chance to write when my course load permits it (which is seldom). Perhaps we should collaborate on this project.

p.s. Anyone else having troubles with the images not loading?

Changing decks and speakers is simple business. That's how my brother's friend got a job at a car audio place. The guy can't tie his own shoes, but he can install stereos.

I don't think there's any real need for a write-up unless it's a real b1tch to take something apart on R50's. Component installs aren't common, and if you have a stock amp setup you can always simply run new wires to each speaker. A How-To on routing wiring? Wow.

hi, i have finish install the system over the weekend. it took a bit longer than i expected because of distraction from family.

a wire harness and an antenna adapter is need.

i install pioneer premier 780 mp cd player .

On the front i have install Rockford Fosgate Power T162Scomponent set . i install regular Rockford Fosgate Power T162C speaker on the rear door.

i also install (2) Rockford Fosgate Power T112D412" sub woofer in a port box.

Rockford Fosgate Punch P400-4 amp is mounted on the rear seat and the (2)Rockford Fosgate Power T10001bd amp are mounted on the sub box.

Please note that the amp mounted on the sub box is only temp as i am still figuring out where to put it.

i also install a cap. there was no need for the cap but it does work great as a distribution block and kept all the wire in one place.

i will be installing a 200 amp alternator(waiting for it to arrive) and kinetic battery (already) have.

i have the complete bose system- the tape deck w/6 disc cd player, 2 front and 2 rear speaker and the internal amp for sale.

Hi, I have a 95 PFI and am trying to install a aftermarket radio, my "friend" thinking he knows what he is doing cut both plugs off the radio harness only to discover multiple pink wires and no clue what goes to what or which ones even need to be used...after searching online I came across the wiring diagram that shows everything goes to the two amps first then out to the speakers, thats when he gave up.....without having to rewire everything is there a way to do this? anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

cubby - your going to have to run new speaker wire. I just did this in mine and it was not that hard. The hardest part is the driver door and getting it through the rubber gasket. I finally gave up and made my own hole, but this can be avoided by taking off the hood pop lever and bracket, then a few other items. I did not care that much so drilled a hole and got a little rubber gasket from the hardware store. You are going to want to do this anyway because the amp that comes installed is a piece and is the first thing to crap out. The amp is located in the passenger side back quarter panel.

I have installed an after market deck (alpine) and infinity 5x7's in front doors and back. Ran new wires. I want a little more, but not sure where. Need some ideas...

Anyone tried to install speakers in the rear doors on a 95 or older?None there now, but looks like a good spot for some custom modification, maybe some 6x9 or 6".

Also, I do not want to put an amp on the back of my rear seat like everyone else. I use the back for hauling stuff and camping. I need it to be clean. Under my front seats is the computer and venting for the heater to rear. Ideas on location?Anyone try to put an after market amp where the old was in the passenger rear quarter panel? If it went there it would need to be a small amp, custom bracket made and some really long RCAs, all fine, but want to see if anyone else has tried and what they used.

On the 96 and up model, there are 6.5" speaker in the rear door.

the amp might fit at the quarter panel but it might be hard to secure it since there isn't alot of support but with a few modification it can be done. The amp i believe would also have to be small due the limited amount of space and also able to operate in an almost enclosed area.

Thanks genesh. I know the 96 and up came with rear speakers.Just want to know if anyone has tried putting in a 95 or older. The window does not come down that far and appears to be room enough. Of course grills and all will need to be put on and a hole cut... all stuff I have done in old cars of mine. Shoot, I put all kinds of speakers in a 68 olds cutless supreme that I had.

So, if anyone has tried.... let me know and tell me what they used.

I'll probably take the door panel off this weekend to see what can fit, but would make it easier if someone has already done it.

hey everyone,

I'm new to this forum/Site and a recently became the owner of a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder SE. I'm excited to learn all sorts of things about my car from this site and look forward to speaking with everyone. I recently began purchasing pieces of an audio system for my car including a 12" subwoofer and an amplifier, the speakers and headunit are on their way, and luckily i found this forum. i hope to be able to uninstall my bose system myself because #1 i want to learn more about my car and #2 Best buy and circuit city would charge me 100 just to take out my system because not many people they claim know bose car audio systems very well and understand its complexity i was told. So i look forward to learning how in uninstall my factory stereo system and learning myself how to do it with your help and suggestions hopefully.

welcome.

all you need a harness and antenna converter for the head unit.

you will need to take out the amp in the front door. Just trim and connect the speaker.

the rear door speaker wire need to be trim and just connect the speaker.

what i did was take the out amp in the rear left panel and just directly connect the two rear speaker to either amp or head unit.

Hook up the subwoofer like how you normally would.

there is a total of three amp.

the two front door has a amp for each front speaker. the amp and the speaker are next to each another.

the two rear speaker run on one amp which is located at on the rear quarter panel. (driver side)

There are 10 clips holding the quarter panel trim on. Its easiest to work from the front to the back. You'll also have to remove the kick plate type trim on the rear passenger door and rear hatch. I'll send you some pics...

my rear preamp was behind the driverside rear quarter panel hel by 10 clips like previously mentioned. mine popped off easily andim not running speakers cause i managed to fix my problem with the highs in my truck. i honestly dont see the need to replace the stock speakers they arecrisp and loud in my truck i got 2 kenwood 12's and it sounds great.

how were you able to fix the highs in the bose speakers? I think i may want to keep the bose speakers and just install the subwoofer I just purchased because bass is really what I am looking for. I have a kenwood amp to power my alpine sub. Is that similar to your current setup? stock system with aftermarket subwoofers?

yea same setup i have a sony amp pushin 2 kenwood 12's. i think my amp sucks anyway i had used an integrated harness which used RCAs to wire the speakers. the harness come with 4 sets of RCAs FL, FR, RL, RR which you would plug into the back of the aftermarket deck instead of connecting speaker wires to the harness.turns out the integrated harness sucks it somehow limited the power to the stock speakers. i took it out and used a regular harness (sold everywhere) and connected speaker wire to speaker wire. the highs are real loud cant turn it up all the way. if you have trouble let me know ive been playin around with this for awhile.

the deck i have has a decent EQ

peace

I would stay away from those integrated speaker into RCA. The sound quality is never the same. Just get a regular harness.

I just curious here on NICO, but how much watt is everyone pull from the pathfinder 01 stock alternator. I know that alternator is only 110 amps.

I currently did not get an new high amp alternator but plan on to.

I'm pulling around 1600 watts RMS and so far my voltage is above 13 volts at idle.
