I've been hesitant to run my tank down to at least when the gas light comes on. But I may have to do that. What do you mean "Use the figure on the fuel pump when it cuts off automatically"?

I mean don't just assume the ammount of 13 gallons, and don't just stop pumping when you think your tank is full. Leave it pumping until the pump automatically cuts off, then look at the fuel pump where it shows how much gas you've pumped, and look at your trip odometer. Example: 327 miles divided by 13.4 gallons equals 24.4 miles per gallon. Then be sure to reset your trip odometer before driving away.

I get about 14-17 mpg in my 90 sohc. I want to get rid of my car because of the horrible gas mileage.
