that reminds me, its time for an oil change. i'm about 50 miles over due. hmm.....i need to get some Mobil 1 synthetic oil. any idea what viscosity is the best for summer? well, i know you have an idea Fred or Rubin, but, ya know, yea i'll shut up. Rubins recommendation is good.In more general terms any one of these oils(except for the castrol):

Right now my Laser burns oil and i have to add quart of oil every 1 to 3 weeks...this past week i added 2 quarts just for it to show up on the Full line mark.

My 90 with 106000 miles uses over a quart every 3000 miles and I don't like it. It doesn't leek a drop and It doesn't really smoke from the pipe as best I can tell, and it runs great.. I have the oil changed regularly from Jerry tucker and He says some Q's use oil and some don't use any. Any thoughts on how I can fix this problem or what might cause this? I have to check the oil every time I get Gas. Great thread Palm.

G20 had 53,200 never used a drop thankyou nissan

god i miss that car , chagend oil every 2500 with mobil1 5w30

car saw redline at lest 2 times a day dureing summers , never used a drop

maybe ill go get another one , put a cage in it

Burns 0 oil run either Mobil 1 15w50 in summer and Synpower 5w40 in winter Almost at 160k

drinks lightwieght oils like an alcoholic does beer... today i get off the highway after a 70mile drive and it was knocking like the rod was trying to kick a hole in my block !! put in a quart and after min it quieted down and ran great.. but i fear that this motor is about done ive let it runn knocking one too many times... everyone out there thats a good excuse not to put a radio into your Sr or Ca cars !!!! make sure your paying attention and checking that oill like you shoulld!!! this was on my KA by the way not the Ca18det thank god !!! im alot more carefull/paranoid with her!!!

maybe we don't have members who check the General Forum often + care to post + actually change their oil+ if they change their oil, they dont do it themselves

what is this "oil" you speak of? you mean there's something other than gas that the car uses? just kidding, my Q doesn't use much oil, and only uses when it's cold. the valve cover gasket on drivers side leaks when its cold, right on the exhaust manifold, but not much. enough to smoke a little, and smell a lot when stopped.my motorcycle leaks and burns plenty. but it's an out of tune 1981 model. it leaks through the gaskets (multiple) and a camshaft end cover thing (round chrome disc) came off once and covered my leg and shoe in oil. for some reason it leaks more when i rev it up to 10k.

In the 13K that I've had it, it hasn't budged at all on the stick, and it looks just like when it came out of the Valvoline DuraLube container.

Gotta love a well cared for car.

Well, my current engine should use quite a bit with the hole in the side of the engine block

but I used to have a Camry that burned about 2 quarts every month.

my Ca got over filled now its leaking lots of oil. what could i have busted ???? still runs like normal just had oil every where under the filter area and on the DET sensor

my bros uses more than a quart....doesnt burn nor smoke, it just disapeears and doesnt tell you anything till the water temp gauge spikes, lmoa

Mine doesnt like to ingest oil. Its not good for her belly hehe.

My gf's 92 loses a little bit but alot of it has to do with a cracked oilpan that isnt bad enough to be immidiate but enough to be a pain.... SHortly I have to bang it out and reweld it though.

Now the 4k generator at the shop is a oil monster. It cant get enough and will eat through a quart in a few hours. Seems as if it burns as much oil as it does fuel. Funny thing is, is that it doesnt even care what kind of lubricant you use. We ran out of oil as always and couldnt find anything anything but some atf... No biggie lets fill er back up with that.... At least it would get cleaned out right? hehe It didnt even care. We laterr found a quart of of my 5w30 M1 synthetic and sacrificed it to the beast. It was happy for a cpl more hours, as it eats a half quart each time..

Hmmmm come to think of it I wonder If I can just recycle my spent oils through that hehehe.

mine uses about 1/2 a quart in 3000 miles. no smoke and very slight leaking. that was with 10-w30. I switched to 10-w40 to see if it improves. My 240 is the easiest car Ive owned to change the oil. It only takes my like 5 minutes and no cut/scratched arms or burns from exhaust pipes like some of my previous cars. I love it
