Head Unit+amp+sub+wires+installation = around 900 CAD, winter tires 600 CAD (eventually got stolen), tint around 150 CAD, rims&summer tires 1000 CAD, new winter tires&rims around 1100 CAD, strut bar 150 CAD (or how much is the DC one?). Total is almost 4000 CAD. This car would not get anything else from me. Hope I'll have enough money for a better car pretty soon.

Hey BD, don't forget the synthetic headlight fluid!

LOL, I find it amusing the amount of money people spend on what is a new, bargain econocar.

I think the only other thing I might spend money on for the V is maybe a Bazooka tube for a little more oomph in the bass. I'm out of the days of the $5000 audio systems that I had in my previous cars. I would be too big of a pain in the arse to take up that much room when I use it.

I'd rather take that $5k and put it towards my fiance's (soon to be wife in 2 months) house fund. I'm sooooooo tired of freakin' apartments.

Ok - let me count:- Tanabe springs: ~$200 + liquor for some friends to help me - Radar detector: ~$150- Weathertech vent visors: ~$70- K&N filter: ~40- Sylvania bulbs: Silverstar $20 - lasted only 6 mo, Ultra bright $45- 2 x $35 Mobil1 oil + Mobil1 filterTotal: $595 in 1 year

Looking for tires (when Contis are out), fog light, tint and a bumper protector. But as I just bough a 08 Sentra for one of my daughters (so more payments ) and I have another daughter that will be 18 this year and I promised her a car, I doubt I can put the money I want into my V So, maybe after 4-5 years I don't have to pay any tuition for my girls I can think about pouring more money into my V - or just buy a 370Z or a G37 for fun like Red Devil once said.

I'm not going to including everything...What I spent:

- At least $300 on my sound system- $200 on tint, lifetime warranty- $209 on the interior accent lighting- $189 for the OEM bumper- $70 on all season floor mats- $189 on the Garmin GPS

A total of $1157, not including the OEM foglights

Red DevilTrue, but if you look at it from different point, a lot of stuff has to be added to be able to normally drive it everyday throughout the year.Anyways wish I could go back for 1.5 year, just before the Versa contract was signed. =)

P.S. all cars are like that... first thought is "just monthly payments, insurance, gas" but then unfortunately the sad part "oh, its winter, need floor mats, oh, ran out of windshield washer, oh need an oil change" comes in... =)

Why you saying that crap? I love my car, better than my old POS '98 civic coupe I once owned. That thing was a ricetacular nightmare, always broken into and stuff stolen, I had to get rid of it. Have you thought about looking into the '09 Honda Fit? Nice car, I'd get one alongside owning a Versa, it's her brother!

If I were to choose now, I would buy a different car. Get me right, Versa is a good new car for its money, but its not a car that suits me.I would rather look at 2001-2002 BMWs and Mercedes, then buying my Versa. And realized that buying the first car brand new is useless (again, for me), unless you have $50k to spend.

I traded in a 99 C280 Mercedes fully loaded for my Versa. I had a lot of issues with electronics end other stuff (wiper motor, wiper transmission, EGR valve, oil gasket, water leaking inside, switches, air bag, etc...) - every month 100-200 dollars in repairs. The mileage was 26-28 on the highway with a 2.8L V6 engine!I missed the confort of that car, the dimming mirrors, ABS, traction and slip control, but I don't miss the money for repairs.I bought the V for reliability, space and mileage - and I paid a fraction comparing to a Mercedes - and I am happy I did it.

It's just a bad luck, happens with almost every car.Have a friend with a 2001 325xi, no huge repair bills, decent mpg, overall car condition is good. I've driven it after driving a Versa for 1.5years... Seriously, can't even compare the dynamics and comfort. =)And also had a friend with a 2001-2002 C class. No complains from him (although he had some expensive repairs, but they were due to his own faults). Also if buying used BMW I would buy their certified used car with extended warranty. (would be just 1-2k more expensive).
