Man, I am jelous about your milage. Last week I went up North. I told my wife I'll take it easy. I want to see how good it can go. I did soo good till we went on the small road. I dropped my family off and went back to play. There it goes my good milage.

The way back I told my wife to snap some pics of the road.

I'm getting an average of 18.277 MPG. That's over the course of 3,528 miles and 193 gallons. That's since I started tracking it on April 6, 2007. Oh, that's also $615.21 or an average of $3.19/gallon, or $0.17/mile.

Cool pics of the twisties!!Just took my cobra out for a spin. Been near 100 today and my AC has been locked up. Beat the snot out of it with a small bar-bell and tried it a few more times. FINALLY, it started spinning!!! yeah!!! and blowing cold air! I had bogged down the engine several times causing the check engine lite to come on. Took it by autozone and it reset. Kind of scared me cause it's due for an inspection!

Do you know what's wrong with those pics? Almost every one of them have a state trooper on it. 318 curves in just 11 miles. Man once I visit Tennessee for sure I hit that road.

Those pics. makes me want to go out and rip my car. I'll go and check that website out a little more.

Thanks for the info.

I get about 20 MPG on highway. A full tank of gas fetches 400-415 miles. I have never checked the MPG for city.

for me it depends... I get like 14~17 during the day time.. YOu waste more gas during day time than night time.. unless you live in an area that's 24/7 cold... Or you'll be burning the gas like theres no tomorrow.. I get around 18~21 or sometimes 23 at night...

Mine is all stock, 06 coupe with a manual trans. I work on the road and drive as far as the mikkle coast of CA (I live in Michigan). On the highway for that long trip I averaged 25.5 mpg. Around home under normal semi aggressive driving (highway and side road mix) I still average in the low 20's.

This is the first Infiniti I have owned and I love the car but I don't understand why my brothers 04' Zo6 gets 30'ish on the highway with over 100 extra hp...Ahhhhh...who really cares about fuel economy anyway unless you drive a 4 door commuter or a minivan.

I hear ya man, I have no idea how it can get that kind of mpg even driving like an old lady. That was the case, by the way, before replacing all internals, heads, adding a cam with lift numbers in the mid .600's and adding a fogger system. It is stupid fast. I actually saw the rwhp dyno sheet with the squeeze full blast @ 672hp. I have to be honest to say that I couldn't tell the difference between nitrous on or nitrous off, the tires where howling well into 3rd gear and I felt like there was a 300 lb dude sitting on my chest either way.

Consider this however, when stock and in 6th gear it would lope along at 75 mph taching something like 1800 rpm's.

Will not hurt it (you have a G35 Coupe, right?). Just take it easy on the pedal, till you get down to about 1/4 tank (or less) and then re-fill with Premium. After letting that go down to about 1/4 tank or less, with a light foot again, fill again and you should be back to normal.

You can also get some octane-boost if you want, but it is not strictly necessary. Also, you might consider putting in some ISOHEET (not HEET) from an auto parts place. If that regular gas was not up to par, then this will help absorb some of the water in the gas, etc.

I saw gas for $2.87 at the rest stops when I was passing through MA. I was shocked.

It's up North between Road 69 and hwy 11. It is road 141. It is wicked. I was comming from HWY 400 turns into 69 and went down on that 141. First 1/2 hour just curves after curves then it pretty straight for 10-15 minutes then again when you hit Bent Lake area. The picture was at the Bent Lake area it is pretty cool right beside the water but the other curves are wicked also. Going thru forest with all the rocks. You have to watch out for the moose too. In the early morning you can see some if you are lucky and you are lucky they not comming the front of you. If you go up North hit that road you'll love it.

BTW : I've talked to the local guys and they said there is only 2 cops around/ day for a huge area. They have to deal with everything. They are too busy to scan the road. Oh yeah.........

Here is another question related to the above. I run 94 octane from Sunoco and still get small amounts of detonation...what gives?

I did add some of that octane boost and it seemed to help (I never really believed that it would work). Does anyone else have this problem, my car is a completely stock 06 Coupe 6MT. Seems like 94 alone should be fine.

Maybe the 94 is not 94 after all. Have you tried other stations like shell? It might be something else.

Maybe I haven't tried enough different stations. What do ya know about the bottled octane boosters? It seemed to help but are there any good reasons not to use it?

I use it all the time. You can feel the different. In my area the premium is only 91(sux). Anyways ,so I boost it up a little. I usually buy a bottle and put a half in and the next I put the rest in. It helps a lot. I did use it on my previous cars also.

Cool, I will have to go there sometime. That is on the way to my buddies cottage.

edit: that is actually way further north then I thought. My buddies cottage is near south gibson lake road, off of highway 69

I'm taking her for her first 'long' trip (430kms) down the coast this weekendm then have to drive back again the next day, so I'm curious to see just how far a 75 litre tank of premium (98) will get her.

The whole trip is highway (110km p/hr most of the way) so im hopeing I can get there and back on a tank. We'll see.

eh, it will be tight. you get the Europian octane calculation. The 98 is in North America is about 93-94. I don't know why they measure the ocrane different around the world. it ould be confusing when you travel. Let us know how you did on the trip.
