How many have you fastback owners been called a probe before . I went to big o tire and they thought my 240 was a damn probe Has your car been called a probe?

i think it's the shape of the front.

showed my friend 5 probes and 3 240s. The probes were called 240's and 1 240 was called 240.

when im driving at night, i usually think an approaching probe is a 240, but my eyes are not tight, the fronts are very similar

NJ DMV pulled it up to the rollers for the emissions test; the inspector inched it forward & stopped on the front wheels...

i was "WTF? it's a rear wheel drive 240sx!" & ran outta the A/C waiting room, crossed 3 lanes to my car & stopped the guy before he put down the hammer...

depending on what the car condition was i might have let them do it so i could fix it with some performance parts.

but then again even though my fenders are mesed up I still crossed into oncomming traffic today cause i didn't want this idiot in an SUV to slam into my front fenders. guess it's just 240 love no matter what the girl looks like.

i wouldve said a 94 and when i got the ticket goto court and tell em that u were driving a 240 not a prelude and get the ticket thrown out

A few years ago the owner of a repair shop referred to my '91 fastback as a Probe. Offended, I corrected him, but he seemed to ignore me. At least the mechanic who worked on it probably figured out it was a Nissan.

I think the confusion stems from similar styling of the fronts and also a lot of Probes and 240s are red. I still do a double take when I see a red Probe in the distance.

Never had that problem, anyone one who was borderline calling my ride a probe saw the look in my eye and new if they finished what they were saying I'd slap the hell outta them.

my roomates s13 got mistaken for a prelude to, we both got pulled over, in identical cars, the cop asked him what year his honda was and i was like "uh, they are both nissans"

A week after I bought it, I decided to take my white hatchback out on the town. As I'm giving one of my best friend a ride back to his house, his drug dealer buddy says, "What is this, a Saturn?"

On a side note, when the officer refers to a different car, Id personally let him write down whatever other brand he wants.

"Sure its a Honda prelude" or dont say anything. Makes the ticket easier to dispute in front of a judge. It shows that the officer isn't really on top of things.

Yup, I had this picture of my 240 on a webpage and this girl said she thought it was a probe.... and yes I've also been in the situation of the prelude. My friend had a junky prelude and someone acctually thought it was a 240sx coupe. Morons!!

Unless your car has been de badged, all these other brands should not be in these peoples heads. Is says Nissan and has 240 sx on it. People just arent observant I guess.

the cop that pulled me over wrote down nissan 240sx, i mean is says 240sx on the back, also i can see it being confused for a probe, saturn and prelude, the probe bc it looks a lot alike in many ways, the saturn, bc the tail lights look alike and that whole car too. i mean, its a popular style for the 90's

yup i think the glass that covers up the top half of the car makes them look alike...and doesn't the probe have some kind of mark where our "240sx" logo is also?

yup, the Probe has that emblem in the rear 1/4 panel glass that says Probe, and also having been the proud owner of two '89 Probe GT's (mmmm...turbo) i can attest to the fact that most people see the front end, see the flip-ups, and assume they're one-in-the-same

well i saw a beat up probe. It looks exactly like the S13 except for the butt.
