Interesting how many EX owners are "turned off" by the FX. I have to agree when I first saw the 2nd gen FX I too was not sure if I cared for it, but after driving it my whole perception changed. Now I realize the comparison of the EX35 to the FX50s is not "apples to apples" as far as performance, price, or features, but I can say that in the year I owned each I have received FAR more comments and compliments on the FX than the EX. Both have the identical color combination, so to non Infiniti people they were similar in appearance. It could also be that there are far fewer new FX's on the road, making it stand out more, which is a compliment to the EX popularity. I guess everyone has their own tastes, and I was very happy with my EX, but I am also very pleased with my choice to trade up. I wouldn't say the EX is a mans or a womans car, I think it fills a space of buyers that are looking for a combination of performance, luxury, particular size and price. It is almost unique in it's segment for this combination and that is what makes it the great vehicle it is. I did LOTS of research before purchasing my EX in 2008, and you can't get more bang for your buck from any other brand in it's class. And while the FX was more of an "impulse" purchase, I feel it too is an incredible vehicle for the price compared to it's segment.
