UGH This car had better be all I hope it will be or I am really gonna be pissed. With the delivery date I have now, I will have waited 5 months for my car. I have been checking checking on the internet all over the place and no one has what I want. So I wait and wait some more.
Did you order from allocation, or did you place a factory special order?

If it was from allocation, you may never get it because, from what I hear, they are not making that combination of car. They are building other combinations, and won't build that specific car unless actually FACTORY ordered...

Kick, scream, and demand a factory-order, and make sure they give you a VIN as soon as one is available. Involve Nissan themselves if you have to.

11 weeks and still waiting since I ordered mine. I have been on the dealership this week looking for answers and have just been told tonight that Nissan has lost the car! It has been showing in transit for 3 weeks but they cant track it, they dont know if its still in Mexico, if its gone to another dealer or what not. Needless to say im getting a little fed up, i mean how do you lose a car?

This wouldn't be the first time a car disappeared in the system when one of our members was tracking it. It usually means it was never built.

I assume you have tried looking at other dealers in the area?

I'm supposed to take delivery of my V towards the end of November. I still don't have a VIN tied to the car yet, but I've already forewarned my dealer. If my car ends missing in the system or delivery gets pushed back, then I'm walking away immediately. I let them know this because I'm serious about having my car in on time. Deals can be made anywhere so there's no point in playing the games with the dealer.

I was given a VIN number for it 3 weeks ago when the dealer was told that the vehicle was finished production and was in transit, the problem is it shouldnt take 3 weeks to transport the vehicle so they think that it either hasnt been sent out or was sent to the wrong dealer. I have called every dealer within a six hour drive from me and none of them have a Blue SL so i'm stuck waiting.

Still waiting on mine. Ordered Sept 28th. Dealer told me when I ordered it that it would be at least 2, most likely 3 months before I'd get it.

If all goes as planned... I just inquired about a Versa last night, talked to the internet sales manager at a local Nissan dealer... he found a Silver SL 6 speed with the Convenience package, and he could get it in about a week.

So I might end up waiting only a week. (this after waiting for about 3 months on a Fit, that turns out never got ordered...)

Well, he found it IN STOCK at another dealer... so as long as they don't sell it before he can trade for it...

We'll see how the cards fall.

Pay close attention to this:

Go to the other dealer and buy it.

Very VERY few dealers are trading for Versas, much less SL's. There are too few, so the dealers that get them are holding onto them, and the only thing that can remove them from their cold, dead hands is a customer ready to buy on their lot.

Should be plenty of manuals. It's the CVT's they have a shortage of.

Have you tried searching other nearby dealers' inventories? Dealers are still not doing trades for Versas... if "your" car is nearby, you have to go get it yourself.
Hah Ha not the case here in Maine. They had two CVT's one of which the whole car was EXACTLY what we wanted EXCEPT it was a CVT instead of a manual. We had to order the exact same car that was there only with a manual transmisson. SO now we are waiting until January

I'll join in on the whining

Put in my order in early Sept, was told it would be in on Oct 31st. Finally got ahold of my dealer on Nov 1st and was told that my car had disappeared from the system. Now I'm waiting until Dec, still haven't received a VIN or any concrete info implying that my car is actually being built.

My Versa finally arrived today. By the time I get it (tomorrow or friday) it will have been a week and a half since I put down my deposit. However, I had a deposit down at another dealer for a whole month before switching to my current dealer, who could actually promise me a mid-november arrival. (which, they have delivered)

Thanks for the sympathy. It's partially my fault, if I wasn't so hellbent on getting ABS I could've had one a long time ago, but I've been holding out. If I had known it was going to take this long when I first put my deposit down I might've just said screw it and gotten one without ABS, but now that I've been waiting 2 months I figure I might as well get exactly what I want.

I've been wondering, though, if my car doesn't end up coming in in Dec (honestly at this point I'm not holding my breath) it seems like by January it shouldn't be difficult to find a Versa with what I want. I mean, by 2007, 2007 models shouldn't be scarce any more, right?

There's more and more being produced everyday. Although it makes sense to have a decent amount of 07's out for 2007 it's not likely to happen. There's a good chance that Nissan will leave the production level unchanged right before the new year. Which means we may see the same or slightly more on lots, but it's not going to be like the 06 Sentra's...lol. You should try working with multiple dealers to locate the car you want at the price you want. The more people you have searching for you, the better chance you have of finding that V you want. If you have 6 dealers, you'll have 6 dealers calling you letting you know that a truck has arrived and what has rolled off of it.

I have a story from hell for all of you waiting for Versas. I ordered 2 SL's in August. 1 - 6-speed, conv., audio, sunroof package, magnetic gray, black; 2 - CVT, convenience package, super black, black.Estimated delivery 6-8 weeks. Weeks were flying by and no word from my dealer. I was contacting him every week and always got a different story. This Tuesday I went to get my deposit back and I was told by the Sales Manager that they received a fax from Nissan that all orders on Versas and Altimas were put on hold. I got my money back and told him to contact me, when they decide to deliver those cars.

Today I contacted another dealer and he never heard anything about any hold. I gave him my specs and he said that he will talk to his manager and contact me. No word yet.

I just found this forum and decided to see if anybody here have similar problems. Any comments welcomed. Thank you.

Im not sure who it was but, someone had told me to build the nissan i want online on the nissan website and enter at least 50 mile radius to find a dealer with the same match of the car i wanted. I tried it and it worked. You should do that so you know the availability of the versa u want in ur area. Who knows, since you dont have ABS you might not have as hard a time locating one and if you find one, you might be able to get it if its not already taken .

Yea, that dealer's feeding you a bunch of . If the Altima went on hold, that would be huge news. Notice he didn't give you a reason for the hold. Now if he said they are putting your specific configuration on hold, that would be more likely. I wouldn't be surprised if the dealer bumped your order to a future allocation for whatever reason (sold a V to someone for $25k and wanted to get theirs in first), and giving you this in the hopes of you actually sticking around. I applaud you for taking you business to someone else.

Maybe he forgot to tell you the fax was about orders from HIS dealership because of the complaints about their changing stories!

Good luck with your search, though!

Well, my wife got "The call" today from our local salesman. It's going to be later than Jan. until we get the Versa we ordered. She said when he was explaining it all he slipped up & it sounded like he just recently did the actual "ordering" We are NOT happy. Our daughter is waiting to get our Sentra & my wife wants this new car. So I just spent two hours looking at other dealerships in New England & found no 6 speed SL models AT ALL!!I found a TON of CVT SLs & a few S model 6 speeds. We may have to get a different car.

XterraVesa posted 2 days ago that there were some 6 speeds in Baltimore that dealers were having a hard time selling. He didn't specify if they were SL's or not. You may want to email him and ask.

In Toronto, For a Silver SL, no tech package, 7 weeks. I originally wanted Black but was told there was a production line problem with black so I went with silver.

Over in northeastern Illinois there are a fair amount of Black, Silver, and White Versas with AT (as long as you want an "S" with the Power Package). Haven't seen an SL model listed recently in the vicinity - any color.
