How about "very little chance of a refund" happening at all.jimbo0607 wrote:I have it in D mode and I have a 2011 G37 loaner with 5G's on it.
I already notice a difference in transmission shifting but I'll circle back around once I drive it some more.
Do you know how long I have to get a full refund on this car purchase by chance?
Thanks,
Jim
I think he should have bought a stickkmckis1029 wrote:im pretty sure your hard 2 to 1 shift will smooth out once the ECU/TCU learn your driving style, and they should be able to change your transmission software... i have the 2010 G37x and have had zero transmission problems. im at 32k miles.
i highly doubt you will be able to return the car just based on a very fixable transmission shifting issue.
My question is do you like the car at all? past the shifting issue you are getting...
Isn't the throttle lag caused by the drive by wire system being slow rather than the transmission? I used to have the same issue, but the lag disappeared cause I regularly flog my car While getting on the highway.... the ecu adapted finally.audtatious wrote:Occasional lag is something that does annoy me. Would have to step up to a higher-cost transmission to really resolve that particular issue.

That would be the GTR37, wouldn't it? I'd love to have those, don't get me wrong, but I don't want to pay $50K more.joe603 wrote:This!!!!!!!!audtatious wrote:We need a Dual clutch sequential transmission and 400hp
Agreed, the original was a blast to drive. But it is noisy and expensive to maintain. That much power requires expensive tires and brakes. I'll wait till a gtr goes out of warranty and pick one up 8 years from now.joe603 wrote:The 2012 GT-R is 530HP now![]()
I'm seriously considering one for my next car...probably will be used though. I'm thinking a 2012 model 4 years from nowSteveTheTech wrote:

How old are you? I had some of those in the day--396 Super Sports, 351 Clevelands, live rear axles, watching things go _away_ from me through the windshield at 80+ mph. I remember the night I was riding shotgun when Kenny blew a tire on a Firebird 400 at ~140. He said "What do I do now?". I said, "Stop the car". The tire was on fire by the time we got to a halt. Too much fun for me any more. They all required insane reflexes to control.audtatious wrote:Rather have a built 60's muscle car

Was the Pontiac 400 a small block? How do you go that fast with only a few gears? All in the rear?Mudgen wrote:I was riding shotgun when Kenny blew a tire on a Firebird 400 at ~140.
That said, I seriously considered going with a Mustang GT and a used 4wd pickup in lieu of my G37x.
IIRC, the Pontiacs had the same block from 326-455 CID, there wasn't a "small block". That Firebird was a '69 Ram Air IV. He had to order it and wait six months. It was a 4 speed manual, don't know the gear or rear axle ratios, or whether he had done anything with the rear. Had 160 on the speedo, and I was watching it when it hit 140 that night. Don't recall if he'd done anything with the tires, so that might not have been accurate.SteveTheTech wrote:

How do you feel about the decision to go with the G, so far?
