I remember a mid-late 60s yellow Stingray in Lynchburg that would do that, the guy would lay coke bottles in front of the front tires and jump them. Had been balanced and blueprinted and whatnot, claimed to dyno 600+. Had a ride in it once, and he punched it at about 30 miles an hour and the thing started smoking the tires.

Y'all realize that we've jacked this guy's thread beyond all recognition, right? :poke:

I came for the new Infiniti issues and stayed for the ford talk....

Gone are the days of walk'in the 'new' Mustang GT's at the drag strip with your G35/37. The car is fast and very relevent, our of the pony cars on the market today the Mustang is also the most comfortable to drive for me.

The automatic still feels light years behind the G's with rev match down shifts and the speed it up shift and down shifts, except for Op's car.

It's still a 'jack, but I think it does count as forgiveness if the OP posts a LMLO.

True, but I think our V6 will still walk their V6. At least the base one without the 3.31 rear.

Agreed. vvel ftw.
I love old car debates, but I have a child of the 80s mentality that 4cyl Honda "fast" is fast. Domestics could always build a hell of a car when it comes to a drag race, but that is only so fun. I bet a G sedan would walk away from one of those muscleheads in something like the situation below. hypothetically of course.

Are we comparing a 2dr new style Mustang to a G sedan?

Yes, I am. The base model 6 against the base model 6. The V8 GT is just a hair off the BMW M3 in speed and handling, so I'm not demented enough to make that comparison.

Or maybe you thought I meant the 4 door Mustang. :chuckle:

No I wasn't sure if we were actually comparing apples to cumquats . Something cheap and common vs. something a little more pricey and imported. Guess I shoulda asked if it were the G coupe in question.

It's definitely cheaper and more common vs. a little more pricey and imported, but it's similar drivetrain model vs. similiar drivetrain model, so I think fair.

The G37 coupe is a bare hair slower than the sedan according to a lot of threads and articles I've read. Does that square with what you know?
