I can see doing that stuff to a race car, not a street car.

Also, it seems more cost effective just to ad a few more HP. CF doors are like $1,800 each.

I do wonder how much weight would be shed by going with an aluminum fuel cell.

Mine is exactly 2305lbs with half a roll cage, although i did cut out a lot of metal and i have a carbon hatch. I removed close to 20lbs of wiring without a custom harness just cutting out wires i'm not using. A good place to remove weight without welding and reinforcing which a lot of people don't notice is on the cockpit side of the firewall, there is a thin sheet of metal and sandwiched between that and the firewall is hidden sound deadening that seems to be overlooked a lot. If you remove all sound deadening and carpet stuff its an easy 60+lbs of weight.

Under 2300 is NOT doable without extensive modification like the dent sport guys, and if you don't want to cut out anything be prepared to waste a lot on carbon fiber which is not worth it at all if you have any kind of budget normally associated with 240sx owners damnit

Has anyone acid dipped their s13? Do people still do this i havn't talked anyone who has

More horsepower won't help handling and braking

convert the entire wiring harness into a serial data bus that uses few data wires. thats proven to be much lighter.

not really, the load bearing components of the rear chassis are still unibody.

Reason I bring this up is because, for example, the 240 vert is listed as 2800lbs, I weighed in @ just over 3100 stock. The 2800lbs is dry weight (no gas, no fluids, etc). So I was curious to see what everyone's coupes & hatches weigh.
WHOA! A vert' 240 weights 3100lbs? DAMN! I wonder how much my 97-98 weights. Gesh, 3100lbs is a lot.

Yes, when I weighed mine, body weight was deducted. I sat in the car to get the crossweights also (which is in another post).

No point in weighing it on "e"... why, so I can say I have the lightest car in the world? It's about as useful as claiming weight loss by weighing yourself before and after taking a dump...

In any case, part of the reason for some gas is that you're suppose to weigh it & balance it as it will become during tracking time (I expect to be half tank toward the the middle/end of the race) and w/ walbro pump, it is recommended to be at least half tank to insulate the fuel pump.
