I need to know since I just got mine running and the temperature settled one mark below the first of the 2 H marks on my temp gauge. That seems really high and i tested the thermostat and it is ok and changed the temperature sender to the gauge and still running hot. Is that how SR's run? It has me worried so help please.

the ka and the sr should both have a 195 thermostat in them so the temp gauge should read the same.

ok i am gonna just take the damn thermostat out and throw it in a bin somewhere. There was coolant comming out of the bleed screw but when the heater lines were removed there was no coolant inside of the heater even with the valve open. poured coolant into the heater until it came out of one of the heater lines and wasps and bees came out. I think something built a nest inside my engine which is causing water blockages. How do i remove it?

heater core? You have 2 heat hoses comming off the block. Depending on which block you have (I'm assuming the red top) you have one heater hose comming off the block on the back drivers side..and the other sits right behind the intake mani. Just disconnect both hoses and run 1 hose from the intake mani side to the exhaust mani side. That way you just do a bypass. If you want to actually completely remover the heater core...disconnect those hoses, pull the glove box and just keep tearing into it...

To recap.....(factory----block--->heater core---->block)

you need to go block to block. Hope I explained that alright.

You sure are not getting the right temperature reading, a failred temp sensor or gauge cluster will throw your reading off

get some gauges for actual reading

mine over heats alittle, hot side about 90C and block is about 85c are normal operating temp

I am under the impression that it shoudl be 10C lesser for both

which temp sensor did you change, there are 2 one for the ECU and one for the Gauge, I changed my ECU one and nothing happened, you have to change the single wire sensor on the right side.

the stock temp gauge is really really inaccurate....you will need to get an aftermarket gauge or get the temp directly from the ecu.

yeh i did change the single wire sensor. I checked it out and so far when the needle is 1 below the H the engine water temperature is at 150degrees F.

150F or 150C?

for the needle to go under the H, it might just be around 150C

if it's 150C, you got some reaon problem

150F is 65C

meaning your car is not even warmed up, the thermotstat is shut (since it opens at 76C).
