Big Jon, you are right. But we never said that they are bad cars, we just were saying for the majority of them they aren't fast cars. I don't think anyone could try to debate if they are realiable or not.

big jon's 240: is your rsx a type s b.c i lost to my boys' RSX and i had a bad engine at the time. He only beat me his front wheel and we had the same things done (injen short ram, exhaust) but i had a bad motor with my new one i now for a fact i'll beat him agian and again and again until i get bored or run out of gas

I also so clips where a twin turbo 100shot 800hp supra tried to out run a hyabusa on the freeway and let me tell you it was pathetic. the hyabuse easily pulled on the supra in seconds even when the supra was spraing

The civic has beaten a 900. It was close, but he still beat it. As for the Supra vs Hayabusa videos, maybe you missed this:

The video you saw was the one where he missed a 3rd and let off, right? But remember, cars are more efficient at high speeds anyway, bikes lack good drag coeffiecent and frontal area.

Civic would be the neons, cavaliers, sunfires of the import world, they are (for the most part) cheap econo-boxes. I realize that saying the civic is a cheap econo-box doesn't make it look better, but at least its a more accurate comparison. Try saying something uselful every now and then.

I have an RSX type-s, and i can tell you that even if i had a brand new 240, it still couldnt compete. However the 240 has far more potential for modification. Plus my RSX handles like doo-doo. I agree that most people on this board are not under the impression that the 240 is the fastest thing on the planet. You can play the"well i saw a civic beat this and that" game all day long, the fact of the matter is a civic is NOT designed to be a sports car, its a grocery getter (not counting the SI, which is one of the ugliest cars around). Is 400 hp really that streetable in a civic? probably not. How about a 240? easily.Can you compare a 240 and a s2000? shure you can. ill take the difference in cost between the two, (about 26000, in my case) and sink that into the car. now we both have a 30g car, and ill bet the 240 would walk the s2000 in any way,shape,or form any day of the week.
The funny thing is that i used to be on honda-tech.com all the time and i never heard a single hate on nissans. This is crazy! I have seen a good few posts on honda-tech about 240's beating hondas. Yoou know what the honda-tech guys say? Good job, nice car, and other positive coments. But man if you post something on here about how a honda beat a nissan its over. Fact of the matter is that you can take the top 5 fastest nissans on this board and then role to honda-tech and they will have 3X the amount of cars running that speed. And then we get into the handling stuff. Oh 240 this 240 that, are there that many people here that race them in that way? I know on honda-tech there are. Im just saying I like both hondas and nissans. But i cant stand it when guys with the slowest, nasty, looking cars throws out stupid coments about others. And how can you dis a whole brand (honda) thats just stupid. And theres a reson all the honda bashing threads turn around, maybe people will catch on and stop posting them.

I have to agree with you turboex, but i dont think most people around here are saying that every honda sucks. almost any car that is done right is nice. The thing that irks me, and probably most people on these boards, is the dumb***** who get some 16 inch bling-bling rims from pep boys, led windshield washers and the cheapest muffler they can find (commonly refered to as rice), and think viola, ive got a race car. I have a friend with a nicely done civic, and i like his car. i like my acura, but ill take my 240 over those any day. Why? personal preference, plain and simple. Yyou also got to take into account that this IS a nissan board, so expect everything else to catch a little flack. Besides, a little brand rivalry is a good thing.And remember, no matter what you drive, no matter how fast it is, there is always someone out there who is faster.

hey guys, i just started the thread to show you guys a potentially funny pic. I'm not hating on honda's, my brother just sent me a link with the picture off of his Camaro/Firebird forum and i thought it was funny. Obviously, they hate on Hondas as much as we do, and from what i hear, maybe more because they're American cars. But honestly, i know a lot of people with great looking and FAST hondas, one of which is one of my best friends. 
In the end, it all comes down to whether or not you take care of your car and like it for yourself. It doesn't matter what anybody else says if you truly love your car. Anyways, that's just my 2 cents worth and somehow i knew the thread would end this way......lol. Later guys.

Not all civics are painstakingly slow and ugly...
Oh and its an opinion dumbas.s, Civics are like the cavaliers of import land... at least mustangs arent as riced out as neons, sunfires and cavaliers are ya f.uc.k. And i'm not saying they arent because I have seen some riced out stangs I've also seen some decent ones and I've also seen rice on a classic muscle. Look in a a super street mag or import tuner etc youll find more sh*t for neons cavs and sunfires than a mustang. Take your own advice.
hondas are not good cars, i work on cars all day long, look at the engineering differences between honda's and nissan's. next time you look at the a arms and what not on a civic go look at the workings of a 240. youll be amazed at the difference. not saying that if you buy a civic and drive it around its not good. and just because a civic has a swap that doesn't mean its fast. I molested a 2dr civic that had a b18c1 with no interior or fenders.
