on the motor itself. its like 20psi with new headgasket. this is for daily driving. i've heard people hitting 22-24psi at the track.

Search,

Many things cannot cope with high boost, I wouldnt go above stock without FMIC, fuel pump, and Z32 fuel filter. Around 14 psi things like the Injectors and MAFs begin to reach their limits.

The ECU only can compensate fuel mapping to about 10psi on the S14 ECU. You need a rechip, and can boost up to 16psi on 93 octane because of the relationship between pressurized fuel charge(psi) and octane rating.

My friend (coupedupsr on here) runs 1 bar no sweat on his stock S14 SR.

Just because the SR can handle detonating and running lean on a whimpy t2, doesnt mean he is taking advantage of good fuel mapping and good ignition mapping.

Good AF/R + Good Ignition Timing = power. If the ecu doesn't have values for that much air, it will only send its maximum, which is too little to really justify running that much boost.

Once you re-chip, or tune it using Emanage,FIC, Haltech, Power FC etc, then you can take real safe advantage of the extra air. Air alone does not make more power.

Incorrect. It is doing none of the above. In fact it is running so well that he ran a 13 second flat quarter mile. I'd need to find out his exact setup but I'm pretty positive that he is using none of the mods you claim one would need. Have you ever personally dealt with an S14 SR? I'm not trying to call you out or anything just the truths that I have personally witnessed disagree with what you are saying.

he never said if it was a s14 blacktop or s13 blacktop..

i'm running a s13 blacktop with stock maf, injectors, and sidemount at 14 psi with a few drivetrain mods (4.4:1 gears, clutch, flywheel) On saturday I raced my friends 35th anniversary WS6 transam (ls1 v8 and t56 6 speed transmission).

We were neck and neck in first - second gear i was out. by fourth gear i had 5-6 car lengths on him.

the point is you do make power with more boost. on stock boost i could barely outrun my friends mildly modded KA. You're just maxing everything out which can get dangerous but it's fuuun

13.01 @ 110 MPH.

Stock injectors, MAF and Turbo. ; ). Could've dipped 12s.

That doesn't mean he's not maxing out his MAF and injectors.

Especially with the T28, wideband is the only way to know for sure.

I didn't say it wouldn't but that doesn't mean it is going to run like crap either.

I dont believe it, with same mods, when I was still running sidemount, at 12 PSI and ambient air temp at or above 70 degrees I would heat soak before I would even make it out of 3rd gear, at 14 PSI I cant see you being able to go WOT for more than a few seconds at a time, it just doesnt add up. The factory sidemount was never meant to cool that much air, it just cant keep up.
