Im wondering how good the KA-T setup is on the track...Im not talking about drifting (cuz I know it does well), im talkin about circuit racing and grip. I havent heard that much about KA-T's killing it on the circuit, and many people tell me that KA-T's require alot of finesse on the gas (due to massive torque) so its supposedly a little harder to get used to (rather than throwing the chassis around drifting).

So are there any 'famous' KA-T track cars out there that do really well on the track? And for people who already have the set up, how do you think it does with circuit racing?

its as good as you make it. just being a ka-t doesnt make it fundamentally different from any other car.

as far as examples of built ka-t's i know there are several that i have seen but cant think of any specifically off of the top of my head.

No reason it shouldn't outperform a more common S-chassis swap.

Torque is a benefit in grip driving, and the opportunity to come out of corners harder should reward the KA-T driver.

I love everything about that car (except for it's 'track slut' looks...)I want my stance like that. He's like the KA-T poster child now. We need more like it...

Dude, this took me seriously FOREVER. I was on that very last mission for the longest time. It was driving that $hitty @ss boat Mercedes but doing PERFECT... you have to have an absolutely PERFECT line on Nurburgring (maybe one mishap) to win ... I printed out a map online and drew points on the map highlighting when to brake hard, which turns to maximize my speed, which turns were sharp, etc. I basically had to study Nurburgring to win... felt amazing when i actually accomplished it ... otherwise, 98% is still really good you just have to basically know nurburgring to beat GT4

KA-T will not work at the track. as soon as you get on the tarmac you will lose all oil pressure and destroy your motor. for your sake, stay away from the track in your KAT

well according to symonds build,

video:http://video.google.com/videop...dex=0 ; http://www.sportcompactcarweb.....html

it looks like his KA-T had no problems racing on the circuit... he actually tore it up with his KA-T so if ya ask me it looks pretty damn promising

im not asking you. KA-T's dont work on a circuit. you can only drive them on the street. noob. dont you know all the REAL s-chassis racers use the SR?

ROFL! I hope thats a joke...

A ka-t can be just as good as an SR if you build it right. Why is the SR so much better for grip? last time I checked it had lower displacement, a factory turbo and an aluminum block.

Build the ka with forged internals, have it PROPERLY tuned, install a higher pressure oil pump, a properly sized turbo for boost/response and watch it spank SR's all day long.

Just like many others have said.

If you build it properly it will be able to take the constant abuse of road racing. KA's are meh but if you want to go that route then deffinetly do it right.

Elgarvo616, do you have any experience with the ka? Do you know of anyone who tracks a Ka? Where do you get these.. Laughable... Ideas from?

Please, tell me what would make a motor run great on the street, then, for whatever reason hit the dreaded tarmac and just self destruct? Think about that, and try to come up with an explanation to your foolishness.

The REAL track guys run SR's? Dude, i thought people like you died off long ago, havnt you heard? Ka-t kicks ***, has been for a while now, since people like you.. realized their stupidity and moved elsewhere.. You must have missed the memo.

OP - Ka-t perfectly trackable, and has been for years. As long as you build it right you wont have any problems, just like the 100's of guys before you who race the Ka and have no problems.

There is a thinner margin for error with KA-T's but when it comes to boost the thickest margins are about a hair's breadth anyways. That KA-T from SCC kicked ***!

I track my KA-T no problems dont see why you wouldnt want to track it. Good Torque pretty linear power band (with the right setup).

HAHA wow, ok, go ahead and call me a noob just make yourself feel better .... Im just asking a simple question about how KA-T's perform on circuit racing and obviously, people here have SHOWED me that KA-T's (with the right driver) RIP it up on the track. No need for you to come out and make a one sided comment about "REAL S-CHASSIS RACERS USE SR"...psshhhhhh....like what 480sx said, didnt people like you die out? Keep your narrow minded ignorance to yourself, KA-T's are just as good, theyre on the rise more than ever, street or track, just accept it.
