Hi everyone,Has anyone noticed problems driving in the snow with either sedan or coupe? How well does it handle in the snow compared to other front wheel drive cars? Did you have to replace the tires to improve handling? Can you still use the tires for regular summer time driving? Thanks

Heard anything about the 2.5S (no VDC)? Planning on the 2.5 mainly due to better gas mileage. Do you use different tires for winter then summer?

I bought nokian winters last winter (which were great on my last car), but this winter Im considering buying a beater car to bomb around in......I personally think the car stinks in the snow/ice.

wierd, the stock 3.5 tires sucks in snow. The VDC and ABS on the car is average... the ABS is WAY TO LOUD for my standards, i tested my friends 08 Si, and the ABS is alot quieter... pretty sad considering its a Civic

Cool. Thanks. Were you in snow with the stock tires or with your upgrades? Any difference between being in D drive versus the manual-like mode?

here is something i noticed in my a/c is that the traction control is worthless with a cvt, in my a/c say i am on snow and i floor it the RPM's will jump up to about 3K RPM and then the traction control will kick in and the rpm's will die down to about 2K then the transmissions gear ratio will start to enlarge and the front tires will start spinning faster and faster so in my car ive got the traction control limiting the engines output but nothing preventing the transmissions gear ratio from expanding so overall the tires still spin like mad,

I have the stock 2.5 tires. The car handling in the snow isnt great, but it is decent. i would say average or slightly better.

I have a 2005 3.5 SE if that makes any difference? But I'll shoot my .02 cents.....my car handles awsome in the snow which gets pretty deep around here at times. I have all-season tires which I use year round. My verdict is WINNAH!!

No problem with the stock tires on the 3.5 last winter in Wisconsin and I drive to IL. every weekend. Compared to my GTO with 4 snows this car is no problem!

Ran stockers through Lake effect all winter in Ohio, i mean yiou still have to drive reasonable but the only thing I noticed is that I barely ever used 1st gear, I would say that 90% of the time I pulled out in 2nd.

There was one time, where my street was well up over the bumper so I didn;t bother to to try, My 4x4 Titan with the 35"s would have struggled a little I think, so I said f it and cracked a beer.

why do some say that lowering your car may cause more problems in the snow?

Ok my front lip (stock) is about 6 inches off the ground.

i guess i have nothing to worry about. And i only live a mile from work.

that is a relief, i thought it did something to the handling.

I lived in PA, if I were you I would get 4 snow tires and when it's bad second gear starts work best

Not good. I've been stuck twice today in my 2007 2.5s Sedan. I'm sliding all over and wondering how I'm going to make it through the winter since this is my only car. We had 6 inches of snow yesterday in Detroit area and it's hard packed in some areas about 3 inches deep, parking lots and side streets have 6-10 inch snow grooves. I got stuck in a groove and no amount of rocking and pushing got me out. A snowblower and a snow plow were required to clear a path. When I drive down a street that isn't 100% clean - which is most of them - I have very little traction and can feel the car starting to slide.

I was wondering if new all weather tires would help. The reviews on the tires that came with the car do say they do poorly in the snow. Anyone have any experience with better tires in the snow on this car?

Ha ha, average snowfall is less than 20 inches in North VA, but even at that, driving in the 1 - 3 inch snowstorms have ot be the most dangerous on the planet. I have relatives and friends in the Ashburn/Tyson's Corner/Leesburg area and those idiots in VA are the worst snow drivers I have ever seen. Absolutley horrifying tring to drive in NOVA with even the little amount of snow they get, TERRIFYING, HORRIFYING, DAMN SCARY!

3.5 with the stockers did fine for me last winter. but I had to turn VDC off when the road got really bad-- with VDC on it'd continiously kill my power to the wheels when I needed it.

Basically, I was in a "controlled" slide the entire time and VDC didn't like it, so I turned it off and all was fine. Honestly the car fared pretty decent as long as you kept it moving.
