Bloody hell!

I got a copper washer on one side, well fit, and one on the other side. I've put RTV sealant on both sides of the washers, taped the threads on the bolt, and torqued down VERY TIGHT.

And literally within five minutes of running it sprays about a quart of oil. . We are talking about the part that goes into the block. What have you guys done to fix this? Or has anyone even had the same problem.

banjo bolt - check!

cracked block - check!

washers - possibly!

either way tightening it down just resulted in a snapped turbo line. GG till later

Right now Im dealing with the same thing... DO NOT TORQUE ANYMORE AS YOU WILL STRIP THE THREADS IN THE BLOCK LIKE I DID!!!!!!! If you get taka/earls/circuit sports lines they all retain the stock banjo fitting for the oil line. I know it sucks. However, http://www.jgycustoms.com sells a stainless braided line for the oil feed that is a restricted A/N fitting style connector for around $70. That is the way that i would go. If not then you probably just need to replace the crush washer. Get one from Nissan. I am not sure of the part number but there are two different size crush washers. They can be cross referenced from the Z32TT or the 1990-1996 300zx(Fairlady Z) with the VG30DETT. That solved my problem the first time I took my turbo off. In conclusion hardlines do suck major balls. The old school earls/taka lines used an A/N fitting so if you can find those then good. If not get the new ones and get the one from JGY. They make the re-installation so much easier with the turbo is in the car. Well worth the ~$150 that you will pay. All currency is in USD.

yeah i should clarify that I used the AN lines not the ones that retain the banjo fitting.

the problem is if you tweak the hardlines when you pull the manifold off it is impossible to tweak them back.

Get an AN fitting for the block...i think its 12mm to an 6Order some circuit sports lines and hook up your oil line to the AN fitting rather than the banjo,Do not over torqure that banjo bolt!!!or this will happen to youhttp://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=224196http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=225198

here's an old school trick you guys might not know:

Use a torch to heat the copper o-rings....they'll swell up nicely and seal perfectly.

As an extra precaution, i always clean both sides of the copper rings with a fine grit sandpaper...just lay the paper on a flat suface and slide the ring around in circles with your finger.

I've been doing this trick for years, and have yet to have a leak.

Hope this helps!
