First of all, you want to use one key for erything such as glove box, ignition, trunk, door..etc, so you wil have to find a complete lock set. It's easy to swap out locks except on the door. Check my write up and remove the door panels to get to it.

You have to keep looking. Are you sure your motor is dead? Did you try to push the small button on driver's side door? There are three buttons and I'm talking about the smallest one. It disables quarter window switch.

ill check e-bay out more, and you mean the power window lock button? ya all the other windows work including the passenger side quarter window...its only the drivers that doesnt work...

ive got the interior panel off, thats the easy part accessing the lock itself has me a little stumped dont really want to mess anything up, and i cant afford to take it somewhere, and its a daily driver.

See if plastic guide is off the track. Sometime it gets stuck and wouldn't move at all.

When I bought the car the quarter window worked but barely it would go up halfway with no problem an then get stuck I could pull it past that and the motor would do the rest but that cut out soon after

Sounds more like plastic guide problem. If you can pull the window up somehow, you can barely see the guide, so check it.
