Very odd scenario. It runs fine now, but is still reeling from the leftover "91" fuel I was forced to fill up with. The PFC readout indicates knock when it gets into boost, so I am trying to burn this last tank off so I can completely fill it up with 93 before winter.

The main issue is that I don't have a 10-gallon reservoir to put it all into :)

I suppose now you're going to post a picture of that too LOL

Thursday and Friday should be nice so I may have one last chance to take it out before the snow flies.

As mysteriously as this issue went away, it has now returned and was consistent. My wideband started reading consistently lean and had an odd exhaust note like it was missing a cylinder. Indeed, it was. I have narrowed it down to the fuel injector (likely), injector wiring to the ECU, or the ECU injector driver. I highly doubt it is the latter two, but I will know for sure once I swap two of the injectors around.

Have you pulled the fuel rail out to make sure none of the injectors are leaking?

I don't think injectors are leaking because the rail holds pressure when the key is turned off. I will work on it tonight to determine what is going on. I think I just have a failed injector from DW. It would have lasted 3 summers...or 5,000 miles.

This just gives me an excuse to go to E85 and convert to a big MAF this winter :chuckle:

Yep, bad fuel injector. I have an e-mail into Deatschwerks to get a replacement sent out. I don't know their exact warranty language but for an injector to fail within 5,000 miles is unacceptable. :tisk:

How did you end up determining the injector was bad? I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to injectors hah...

LSDrift - I knew it was missing a cylinder by the sound of the exhaust and the lean AFRs so I pulled plug wires until one didn't change the idle tone. It was #4. Then I pulled the plugs to see if each was sparking. They were, so I knew it was fuel related. I switched the #4 injector with #3 (known to be good) and the problem changed to cylinder #3. I knew it was the fuel injector itself at that point. DW had me test the continuity across the injector pins and there was none. This means the internal coil is broken and unrepairable.

DW has been very helpful about this situation and is sending me a stock RB25 injector to use to get the car out of the garage one more time. I am installing a new LSD this week and I need to get it broken in before winter hits. Since I have a PFC, I will be able to scale that individual injector differently than the other 5 so it should run okay. I will NOT be creating ANY boost with this set up! :nono: :gapteeth:

RRRB - I think I was just being oversensitive to the voltage. It was my efans turning on and off for the most part. I looked back at some early datalogs and it was exactly the same.
