MY pa is loud enough to get peoples attention. It'll get people's attention but it isn't a cop pa...yet.Going to upgrade to a better CB that has more watts so I can make people jump out of their seat.

I installed some $16 air horns, complete with air compressor. No more will I fear old ladies in buicks in parking malls! I'll record a picture clip tomorrow and post it.

These cars do sound wimpy. I had the hella supertones on my civic, and they were pretty loud. Not as loud as air horns though.

I wonder if I change the compressor on my current setup, would it get louder?

My next mission is to get my hands on real-deal train horns or a Semi's.

i'm going to replace my pancake-lookin horns for a set i got from lil bro's 85 chevy celebrity (had a rod knock & it was due for the junkyard)

they look like freeway blasters too & noticed that they are louder than roadrunners' meep meep sound when i tested them.

didn't yet (has other projects to do b4 this 1 ie replacing speakers/valve cover gasket)

the domestic horns are a 2-wire set, while nissan's (i believe) are 1-wire w/ the screw/bracket as a ground.

I'm just gonna cut the wire/plug from the oem & solder the power wire to the harness, while running my ground wire to the chassis. I don't have to fiddle w/ an aftermarket relay since it is the same rating. i will update when i finally get around to doing it.

Has anyone modified their horns?
Really simple wiring job, not the cleanest I've done but I'm too lazy to go back and tidy it up.

Click the pics for larger versions

Horn location I chose. They could have been put elsewhere but right here is fine for now.

Terminal Connection aith a 40 (ohm?) fuse. The setting calls for a 25, but it won't hurt to use better.

Compressor location.

Wire routing. I'm lazy, I know, but it works. When I install an intake system, I'll clean it up.

Here is the Sound clip.Right click this link and choose save as. You may need the Xvid codec to view it.

Hope these help.-MAX
