now that's what i was about to suggest... i'm glad you went ahead with the port. that ought to help out with the boost creapage too.

btw, you coming up to the valley friday for the 502 meet? i'll prolly be there, but not running, as my clutch = teh suck.

oh, and junk 240, are you serious that dyno time costs that much up there???? geeze... i think up at "clemmons" here it's $75 for 3 pulls with tuning.

Yea, the two dyno's (the only two i know of around here) both quoted me around that price. That's some serious cash there for a little cheap project like mine. sucks for me eh?

The 4g64 is a 2.4 liter and there are pleny of guys building turbo setups using 14bs and 16gs in the Galant and Spyder on the 4g64 block

The Porsche 944 had a 2.5L 150 hp 4 cylinder when it first came out in 1983. Apparently that wasn't enough, so in 1989 they had optional 2.7L and a massive 3.0L (yes, they were still inline 4 engines!) making 168 and 208 hp respectively. Those were all the naturally aspirated 944's, the turbo 944's all had 2.5L 4 cylinders, making anywhere from 217 to 250 hp, depending what model year. The 968 was the successor to the 944, and all 968's had the 3.0L, making 236 hp. The 944/968 also have a 'torque tube' that runs to a rear-mounted transaxle (instead of the transmission right behind the engine, like the 240) to help balance out the big four cylinder engine. The car has a perfect 50/50 f/r weight distribution. The 944/968 is a cool car, front engine/rear drive like the 240, and lightweight to boot. The problem is it's German=expensive! The 240 is a LOT cheaper to work with too, much lower maintenance cost, and cheaper to mod. A properly modded 240 should easily be on par with, and even better than a 944, just don't tell the Porsche owners that because they are usually rich and quite proud of their cars and don't like to think that a japanese car can compare. No offense to any 944 owners, I'd be proud to own one too! Just a lil bit of info on another great car. :-)
