Yep. Walked around the SR-71 at a show a few years ago and felt *reeeeeally* small and insignificant.
Next time you find yourself close to Dayton, OH you should head over to Wright-Patterson and check out the museum. If think you felt small near the SR-71 I can only wonder how you'd feel standing next to the XB-70.

Anyone that's an aviation junkie needs to take a trip to Wright-Pat.

Definitely will do.

Toured the Spruce Goose when it was in CA... WOW. Awe-inspiring.

The Pima Air Museum out here in Tucson is pretty impressive as well... the aircraft graveyard is amazing.

Cool, but scary at the same time.

It's awesome how advanced our military is. It's just, I hope we never have to use the wicked technology we're coming up with. That plane is nothing compared to some of the s*** we're working on.

this really is an amazing place. im not really an aviation buff, my buddy who invited me is, & i loved every bit of it... its what, 2nd biggest in the country?

^^this thing^^ just blew my mind there. i couldnt walk away from it. the size and power and just of the whole thing... i wanted to hump it, mini-me style.

the xb-70 was one wicked bird too, but nothing left the impression on me the stratofortress did.

And Hill. If you want to feel small, they have a C124 which absolutely dwarfs the B29 next to it, both across a field from the B52.

Awesome! Its impressive in the video. I can only imagine how cool it would be to see that live.

Ive been to Wright Pat, but all I remember clearly is the B29 and an old 707 'Air Force One'.

The only real problem with the F-22's maneuverability is that the Russian 4th gen and higher airframes like my beloved Su-30MKI have been doing such maneuvers for years. They lack the stealth, speed, range, and sensor capabilities of the 22, though.
I remember watching the first video of an Su...f***in' rad...hell, that was atleast 10 years ago...

<----old school.

wants this.

My dad and I get into P51 vs P38 arguments all the time. The Mustang is awesome, but I <3 the hell out of the Lightning.

I'm on your side. I'm just waiting for someone to come out with a smaller/replica Lightning model like they have for the P-51 so I can have another thing I can never afford to drool over.

Also, I do love the Museum at Wright-Pat. In the last few years, they completed another hanger and a space gallery with rockets, so it's worth going again if you haven't been recently. But it is harder now to get to tour the hanger actually located on the base because security is tighter. My only complaint is that the lighting in the hangers is relatively poor (especially the Cold War hanger with a lot of the cool planes, which is painted flat black inside), you just cannot get reliable pictures in there without lugging a tripod.

I'd be lucky to tell you what model a plane is or it's builder...but I still intend to get a pilot's license one day...

Bummed I didn't get to see the 22 fly at Edwards last summer. They flew it at the VERY end of the day and we left early.there was one in the hangar though,They had some good static displays too. It was good to see a F-35 up close.

You ain't kidding... it now resides at the evergreen aviation museum about 30 minutes from me.
